New Gaming Guinness World Record: 444 consoles, one TV

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I can wholeheartedly say that Ibrahim Al-Nasser’s achievement is nothing short of legendary. His dedication to the craft and his immense love for video games is truly inspiring. The sheer scale of his collection, from the first ever gaming console to the latest releases, is a testament to the evolution of our beloved industry.

If the title reminds you of a traumatizing video, let’s make it wholesome: This is the story of how Ibrahim Al-Nasser got the record for most gaming consoles connected to a single TV.

As a passionate gamer, if paradise were to exist on this earth, it would undeniably be a haven filled with hundreds of gaming consoles all linked to a colossal television screen. Recently, the gaming world has been astounded by Ibrahim Al-Nasser, who set a new record in the Gamer’s Bible (Guinness World Records) by connecting an incredible 444 consoles to a single TV!

The title holder isn’t just someone who owns a massive library of video games, but also a dedicated gaming enthusiast. His journey began as a personal challenge, where he found himself overwhelmed by the sheer number of games to play and reconnecting became difficult. Al-Nasser initially attempted to connect his preferred consoles using a switcher, and it was during this process that he conceived the idea to set a world record in gaming.

Upon examining his private space, the record-breaking gaming enthusiast clearly cherishes Nintendo devices. His collection includes numerous special edition joysticks, SEGA systems, and various related items. However, what truly stands out is his deep affection for Metal Gear Solid, a game that occupies an entire nook in his room. This area isn’t just about gaming equipment but also collectible action figures based on the game.

Ibrahim Al-Nasser openly admitted that he’s an ardent fan of the SEGA Genesis, or as it’s sometimes called, the Mega Drive. This 16-bit gaming system became famous due to its controversial marketing slogan: “Genesis does what Nintendon’t.” However, it’s also known for some fantastic games such as Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and 3, Mortal Kombat II, Castlevania: Bloodlines, among many others.

He even kissed his SEGA Genesis. WHOLESOME.

How did the gaming Guinness World Record holder connect 444 consoles to a single TV?

It ended with a simple solution, but this is an important technological challenge, because all the consoles are working. Every console is different to each other, but the official GWR blog post doesn’t include a full list. However, they mention consoles like the Magnavox Odyssey, SEGA Genesis, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch, and more.

As a passionate gamer, I’ve been fortunate enough to amass an impressive collection of gaming consoles over the years – from the pioneering Magnavox Odyssey, which marked the dawn of home video gaming way back in 1972, all the way up to the sleek PlayStation 5 Slim, unveiled in late 2023.

His assortment encompasses an Xbox 360, a Nintendo Switch, a Wii U, a Sega Genesis, along with some extremely scarce consoles such as the Super A’Can.

Ibrahim’s collection also includes plug & play games, HDMI game sticks, android games and more.
