As a seasoned true crime enthusiast who has spent countless hours delving into the darkest corners of humanity, I must confess that “Betrayal: A Father’s Secret” on Hulu has left me both captivated and disturbed. This series, based on the podcast of the same name, is a chilling exploration of deception that slipped under my radar until recently.

As a true crime enthusiast, I can’t help but wonder if I overlooked an exceptional true crime documentary last month – or perhaps it was simply hidden from my radar. The series I’m referring to is none other than “Betrayal: A Father’s Secret” on Hulu, which made its debut on July 30 and somehow managed to escape my attention until now.

Typically, I’m quite fond of true crime stories, and they’re one of my preferred genres. As soon as I discovered that I had missed the premiere date, I rushed to watch all three episodes. Is it worth a watch? Definitely! Here’s some information if you haven’t caught up with the latest season yet.

As a former teacher and a mother, I found the first season of “Betrayal” on Hulu to be both captivating and deeply disturbing. Having spent years nurturing young minds and shaping their futures, the idea that someone within the educational system could betray that trust is nothing short of horrifying. The podcast and subsequent docuseries, “Betrayal: The Perfect Husband,” follows a heart-wrenching tale of a wife who, like myself, had built her life around a man she thought was her partner in every sense. Yet, when she learns that he has been arrested for sexually assaulting his students, she is forced to confront the reality that her husband was not the man she thought he was. The series is a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and the need to protect our children from those who would harm them. I urge everyone, especially parents, to watch this powerful and eye-opening docuseries on Hulu.

The second season of the documentary series is called “Betrayal: A Father’s Secret” and debuted on Hulu on July 30, offering three episodes that can now be streamed. Each episode runs roughly under three hours, making it an ideal choice for a binge-watching session.

“In essence, ‘A Father’s Secret’ revolves around the intriguing tale of Jason Lytton and his family. Initially, Ashley Lytton was deeply enamored with Jason. However, this affection was shattered when Ashley stumbled upon a concealed folder in Jason’s iCloud account, which unveiled a startling truth. Throughout the documentary, Ashley, along with other intimate acquaintances including her daughter, recount their harrowing stories and ordeals. Additionally, the podcast hosts contribute to the narrative.”

In “A Father’s Secret,” signs and warnings that Ashley and her family may have overlooked are explored through interviews and previously unseen details. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find an age rating for this season, but given its heavy subject matter, I would advise against viewing it by anyone under the age of 16. Although explicit nudity or sexual content is absent, the theme is highly distressing, making it suitable only for mature audiences.
