The Serpent Queen season 2 episode 3 preview: Introducing Queen Elizabeth

The Serpent Queen season 2 episode 3 preview: Introducing Queen Elizabeth

As a passionate fan of “The Serpent Queen,” I eagerly anticipate each new episode, and the second season has not disappointed. Last week’s episode left us with the aftermath of Francois Guise setting fire to Sister Edith’s Protestant church, an event that only served to grow her power and influence in Europe. The plan to destroy the church backfired, inspiring many to call Edith a Prophet, and I can hardly wait to see how this development unfolds.

Last week’s episode 2 of “The Serpent Queen” season 2 depicted the repercussions of Francois Guise torching Sister Edith’s Protestant place of worship in the previous installment. These consequences persist in the current episode, as suggested by the synopsis and upcoming preview.

In the second season of “The Serpent Queen,” titled “Death of a Prince,” fans can watch the episode premiere in two ways. It will be available on the Starz app at midnight ET on July 26, 2024. What lies ahead next is an intriguing turn of events. Edith’s authority and sway will expand substantially when the planned church arson unexpectedly fuels the Protestant movement instead. On another note, long-awaited is Minnie Driver’s portrayal of Queen Elizabeth in this season. Get a glimpse of the synopsis and sneak peek below:

News of Edith’s miracle spreads throughout Europe, inspiring many to call her a Prophet. When France’s fragile political climate reaches Queen Elizabeth, the Bourbon’s trade proposal leverages an opportunity for England to exploit France. Catherine must return urgently to France when Anjou’s temper causes Hercule to be dangerously injured.

One key insight from the trailer is that we’ll discover what became of Mary Queen of Scots. In the clip, it appears she’s under lock and key, guarded by the Virgin Queen. This isn’t shocking news, as history tells us Catherine de Medici had orchestrated a deceitful plan to lure Mary to Scotland, making her believe Elizabeth would join forces with her against the Medici queen. By the end of season 1, this ruse was put into motion and Mary unwittingly traveled to Scotland, only to be trapped instead.

In other parts of the video, it is revealed that Catherine traveled to Italy with the intention of obtaining financing for a palace she planned to construct in France for her son, King Charles. The conversation among Louis Bourbon, Montmorency, and Charles also took place during this time. This detail would not be significant if not for the fact that the king was bathing at the time. One might wonder if the discussion could have been postponed until he had finished. However, such is the intriguing nature of “The Serpent Queen”!
