As a multimillionaire Hollywood actress and mother of two, I can understand why some people might be shocked to see me using a GoFundMe campaign to help pay for my son’s baseball team trip to Cooperstown. But let me tell you, life isn’t always as glamorous as it may seem from the outside.

Alyssa Milano has responded boldly to critics who criticized her for asking for contributions towards her son’s baseball team fund earlier in the year.

In January, Milano, who is 51 years old, faced criticism after setting up a GoFundMe campaign for her 12-year-old son Milo’s baseball team trip. However, she explained that she couldn’t cover the costs for every child and justified her actions.

Over the weekend, I had some exciting news to share. My child’s team did an amazing job and managed to secure the third place position out of an impressive 70 teams. What a fantastic achievement for them!

She immediately referenced the controversy as she shared how the money was used to assist the team.

I’ll never forget the flak I took when I asked for help funding my son’s baseball team. But let me tell you, it was all worth it! Our team might not have placed first among the 70 teams, but we came in third. And trust me, the families on our team are incredibly grateful to every single person who contributed.

Through the funds we collected, every child on our team had the opportunity to join their families on the trip. We’re grateful for your support. Appreciation expressed twice over.

The post included snaps of her child playing baseball as well as the family supporting him.

It also featured a photo of Milano embracing her son on the baseball field.

Earlier this year, Milano faced criticism on social media following her request for funds through GoFundMe for her son’s baseball team excursion.

The GoFundMe sought $10k and has exceeded it’s goal.

Alyssa Bugliari, famed for her role in Charmed, is believed to be wealthy, and she personally established a fundraiser on the internet using her married name. Afterward, she promoted it to her massive following of 3.4 million people on X, previously known as Twitter.

I’m fortunate enough to be married to the influential Hollywood agent, David Bugliari. He’s an accomplished professional with a rich background in talent representation, having previously served as co-head of the movie division at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), which is 43 years old.

Critics widely poked fun at her post, swamping her comments section with humorous memes, such as one quipping that the actress “considers herself financially struggling” when it comes to settling bills.

Milano responded to criticism on X by explaining to her audience that she not only covers the costs for her team’s uniforms and coaches, but also hosts birthday parties and subsidizes monthly fees for any child who cannot afford them.

The children additionally participate in raising funds through activities such as car washes and movie nights. A big thank you goes out to everyone who has donated to the gofundme. Your support has significantly eased the burden for these families and the boys.

In the year 2009, Milano and Bugliari exchanged marriage vows. They are proud parents to a 12-year-old boy named Milo, and their little girl Elizabella, who is currently nine years old.

Back in January, she set up a GoFundMe campaign with the caption: “Our baseball team is attempting to collect funds for their Cooperstown trip. Your donation, no matter the size, will be deeply gratitude-filled.”

On social media, there were numerous criticisms voiced, among them was a comment from user X who stated: “I bet she’s earning royalties right now.”

Instead of “Why isn’t Alyssa Milano covering the entire team’s trip expenses by herself? asked someone.”, you could paraphrase it as “Someone questioned why Alyssa Milano didn’t pay for the whole team’s journey out of her own pocket.”

I pondered over a post from another social media user, who expressed concern: “Is it true that wealthy individuals completely disconnect from reality? She relies on others barely making ends meet to help support her son. I’m left wondering, what’s happening to our society?”

“A user on X was shocked and replied, ‘You, a successful actress in Hollywood, are asking for money for your child?’ They retorted, ‘Why don’t you cover the costs yourself instead of begging?'”

Another person suggested that Alyssa Milano might appreciate it if people could donate towards her expenses for toilet paper and perhaps some snacks as well.

Another user who is a fan of X commented: “Alyssa Milano represents my feelings when it comes to paying bills,” accompanied by a Chris Rock meme showing him jokingly identifying as being financially struggling.

In February, she faced intense criticism on social media as users expressed their disapproval of her actions and left harsh comments on her son Milo’s Instagram page. She chose to respond and explain herself despite the negative feedback.

I’ve come across two images that he posted in response to internet bullies. He made it clear that he’s just a young boy and requested everyone to keep his kids out of the limelight.

She mentioned that she currently can’t cover the full cost for the team and their families, but she hopes to manage it “perhaps in the future.”

Despite being a multimillionaire, she said she is ‘no different’ than other parents.

Parents often fundraise for their children’s sports teams, and GoFundMe is a common method they use.

She expressed her desire to cover all expenses for her team, including travel, accommodation, meals, uniforms, and souvenirs. However, due to financial constraints, she sadly had to admit that she wasn’t able to do so at the moment. Hopefully, this would be a possibility in the future.

She also said that no matter what she does, it would be a lose-lose situation anyway.

She also mentioned that even if she paid for everyone, her critics would still find something else to criticize or cause harm with.

“It doesn’t matter how you feel about me, but it’s truly unpleasant to find such messages on my 12-year-old son’s Instagram page.”

‘Leave the kids alone,’ she continued as she defended her son. ‘Let them play baseball.’

Lastly, she reposted her fundraiser message with the following words: “Feel free to contribute towards assisting the team’s families if you’re willing. The donation link can be found on his profile.”
