I’ve been waiting with bated breath for this moment, and the prospect of new episodes featuring Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and the rest of the incredible cast is truly thrilling.

HBO has shared an exciting filming update for Euphoria season three.

In early 2025, production for the third installment of the popular teen show featuring Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney is set to commence, marking a three-year gap since the second season hit screens.

As a passionate gamer, I can’t contain my excitement as we prepare to kick off the production of Euphoria come January!

“We’re thrilled beyond words with our collaborative relationship with Sam [Levinson] and this talented group of actors. We can’t wait to breathe life into the next installment of ‘Euphoria’ for the enthusiastic fan base.”

Zendaya is set to play Rue Bennett once again in the upcoming third season, while HBO announced that the main cast will be back as well.

The production of the third season has faced some setbacks with various causes. Among them were the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes last year, as well as the packed filming calendars of Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi.

In March, Variety revealed that there was a dispute behind the scenes over the creative direction of the third series, as the network had issues with certain parts of Sam Levinson’s script as both the creator and writer. (Or) Varity shared in March that there were contrasting views about the creative vision for the third series between Sam Levinson, the creator and writer, and the network, resulting in some concerns over his script.

Based on the report, Zendaya’s character Rue seemed inconsistent with the overall tone of the show to the creators.

Euphoria season 3 shares unexpected update

As a gamer, I was deeply saddened when I heard about the untimely passing of Angus Cloud last summer at only 25 years old. His character, Fez, played a significant role in the original plan for the current season, so unfortunately, major revisions were required to reflect this unfortunate turn of events.

Approximately four months following Cloud’s demise, Kevin Turen, a producer for “Euphoria,” unexpectedly passed away at the age of 45 due to heart failure. This unfortunate event further hindered the progress of the creative process.

Zendaya imagined a brighter and sobriety-achieving future for her character Rue when pondering on possibilities after the unveiling of season 2 in 2022.

“We took her as far as what seems like her lowest point and a very difficult time, she explains. By the end of this journey, we may find ourselves filled with optimism and elation, realizing that she has a chance to recover.”

Euphoria airs on HBO in the US and on NOW and Sky Atlantic in the UK.
