Chase Stokes ‘moves forward’ with new symbolic tattoo after SECOND split from Kelsea Ballerini

Chase Stokes showed he’s putting the past behind him after his second breakup with Kelsea Ballerini by getting a meaningful new tattoo.

Chase Stokes, the 33-year-old star of Outer Banks, had a tattoo of the phrase ‘they will judge us by our fruit’ inked below his hairline. He worked with Los Angeles-based tattoo artist Daniel Winter, who goes by ‘Winterstone’.

The idea comes from a passage in the Bible, Matthew 7:16, which asks: ‘You can tell people by their actions. Would anyone pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?’

The New Testament uses the idea of identifying ‘bad fruit’ – meaning harmful actions and character – as a way for Jesus to teach his followers how to recognize false prophets.

Winterstone shared with TMZ on Tuesday that Stokes is in good spirits and has a positive outlook on his current situation. He recently got some new tattoos, but is only comfortable sharing a picture of the one on his back at this time.

This stylist, originally from Beverly Hills, also works with a long list of famous clients, including Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Jessica Alba, Matt Damon, Mandy Moore, Emma Roberts, Taika Waititi, Rita Ora, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Eiza González, Joe Jonas, Alessandra Ambrósio, and Kristin Cavallari.

The star and producer of ‘The Valiant One’ and her now-ex-boyfriend, a 32-year-old country singer, famously got matching tattoos of the Virgo zodiac sign while they were dating. Their relationship, which had been on-and-off for three years, ended again in early February.

In her song, Kelsea Ballerini seemed to allude to her ex-husband covering up a tattoo, suggesting she’s considering doing the same. The lyrics imply their separation is more than just a temporary split – they’re growing further apart.

Stokes and Ballerini initially broke up last September, and she even blocked him on Instagram for a while. However, they decided to get back together on New Year’s Eve.
