Megan Barton Hanson reveals she’s been left feeling ‘distressed and unsafe’ after she was followed by two men in a Mercedes

Megan Barton Hanson shared with her followers that she felt ‘distressed’ and ‘unsafe’ after being followed by two men in a car on Friday.

The 31-year-old, who appeared on Love Island, used her Instagram Stories to share a warning with her followers after a frightening incident.

She posted a warning online, along with a photo of a comparable vehicle, advising women and dog walkers in Benfleet, Hadleigh, and Rayleigh to be cautious.

A black Mercedes station wagon with two men inside followed me. They repeatedly drove alongside me, circled around the area, and kept coming back, trying to get my attention.

I felt scared and worried someone might take either me or my dog. I vaguely remember the incident possibly happening around junction 10, but I’m not certain. The vehicle involved looked like the one I’ve seen before, as far as I can recall.

She concluded: ‘Please trust your instincts and look out for each other.’

Megan, known for appearing on the ITV dating show in 2018, revealed she was bullied as a child about her nose and ears, which led her to consider changing how she looked.

Megan, who struggled to cover even her commuting costs from Essex to London, shared her story with dating coach Paul Carrick Brunson on his ‘We Need To Talk’ podcast.

A 50-year-old man, Paul, asked a woman why she chose to have breast augmentation after already undergoing ear surgery. He was curious about her motivation for having the procedure at that point in her life.

Megan admitted: ‘I’ll be brutally honest – money.

I was happy with my body and felt comfortable with my natural breasts. However, I saw this woman online who was earning a lot of money through modeling, similar to the classic ‘Page 3’ style, and I admired that she was her own boss.

I recall telling my first boyfriend, feeling insecure, ‘She’s earning a lot, and don’t you think I’m more attractive? I believe I could achieve the same success if I had a more ample figure.’

‘I wanted my nose done, that was another thing from school kids would pick on.’

Honestly, I’ve been following Megan’s journey for a while, and she’s always been incredibly open about wanting to feel confident. She recently shared that she really dislikes being sedated for procedures, so she’s decided to get a breast augmentation, a nose job, and everything else she wants done all at once. Her goal is to be able to capitalize on opportunities, whether that’s through social media or even something like the old Page 3 photoshoots, if those were still around. It’s all about taking control and making the most of her options, and she’s very upfront about wanting to earn money from it.

I dreamed of becoming a glamour model, one of those girls featured on Page 3. At the time, I was working a low-paying job in London, and I could barely afford the train fare to get to work from Essex. I felt like there had to be more to life than that.

Megan was working as a Legal PA at the time, but decided to invest in breast surgery.

Before becoming famous on Love Island, the reality star started posting revealing photos on Instagram and rapidly gained a large number of followers.

After six years, she’s gained 1.4 million followers on Instagram. She explained that posting more revealing photos led to a significant increase in likes and helped her grow her following.

Okay, so this celeb really hit the ground running with her newfound social media success. But she wasn’t stopping there! She decided to explore other avenues to increase her income, and that included doing appearances at a strip club. It was all about maximizing her earning potential, and she wasn’t afraid to try something a little unexpected.

Honestly, working at that law firm was a real struggle. The pay was shockingly low for the amount of time and effort I was putting in. It got to the point where I literally had no disposable income – weekends were just about surviving because I’d spent everything just getting through the week. It just wasn’t sustainable.

I was spending money on my appearance, hoping to build a career on Instagram, but it wasn’t earning me enough to live on. I noticed the women working at the strip club nearby – they always seemed happy, laughing and looking really glamorous.

‘I didn’t even tell my parents, I just walked in and said “hi, can I have a job?”‘
