Athena is back in 9-1-1 season 10, but she looks different.
Even though ABC’s new fall shows don’t premiere until later this year, most of them are already being filmed. Now that summer is over, actors and crew are back at work, and fans are getting sneak peeks of what’s to come. This is especially exciting for shows like 9-1-1, which is heading into a significant season in 2026-2027.
Originally airing on Fox and revived by ABC after being cancelled once, 9-1-1 became a popular show. Fans will notice a change in her appearance – she’s wearing her hair longer than she has for most of the series. Even though fans strongly wanted Peter Krause to return to 9-1-1, the show decided to keep his character dead. This was perhaps the most difficult period in the show’s history, even more challenging than when it was initially canceled by Fox. The fact that the show overcame the negative reaction and is now moving into season 10 proves its continued success, and hopefully, the team will deliver something special to mark this significant achievement.
Okay, so seeing Athena move forward in her career without Bobby by her side is genuinely a bit heartbreaking. It really makes you wonder how the weekly cases will play out now that she’s officially a detective. For a long time, 9-1-1 could easily weave her into the 118’s emergencies because she was out on patrol. Now that she’s been promoted, I’m curious to see how the show will integrate her – it could really change her role within the larger story they’re building.
