With so many movies on Prime Video, it’s easy to get lost in the choices! Here are three films that are sure to be a hit with everyone. As one of the first streaming services, Prime Video helped change how we watch movies, and they continue to be a top choice for a reason.
Prime Video stands out from other streaming services because it offers a huge library of movies and TV shows – practically everything is available there. While having so much choice is a great benefit, it can also be overwhelming for viewers.
It’s simple to spend a lot of time endlessly scrolling through Prime Video, and deciding what to watch can be overwhelming. It’s even harder when new movies are added every month, often shortly after they’ve been in theaters. Luckily, the most popular and well-regarded films consistently rise to the top and stay there, appearing in the top 10 most weeks.
Prime Video has a great mix of movies this week, with something for different tastes. You’ll find family movies, a classic thriller, and an exciting action film with Liam Neeson. While it’s hard to please everyone, these three picks offer a little bit of entertainment for all viewers.
3. The Silence Of The Lambs (1991)
As a huge fan, I truly believe The Silence of the Lambs isn’t just a great horror movie, it’s a cinematic achievement. It really rose above what people expected from the genre and became a true masterpiece. What’s amazing is it even won Oscars – including Best Picture, which is rare for horror! And honestly, it’s a perfect example of how gripping and well-crafted horror storytelling can be.
Prime Video has a lot of excellent horror movies, but The Silence of the Lambs is the best. The performances by Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster are incredible, and the movie builds tension so well it’s often almost too much to handle. It’s not just scary—it’s also a really smart and thought-provoking film.
2. Transformers One (2024)
As a long-time Transformers fan, I was really excited about Transformers One, and it didn’t disappoint! It’s a return to the classic feel of the original ’80s cartoon, switching to animation which I think was a brilliant move. Honestly, if you’re curious about getting into the whole Transformers universe, I’d recommend starting with this one – even more so than the big live-action movies from the 2000s. It really explains where everything began!
Beyond that, Transformers One is a solid film overall. It boasts striking and engaging visuals, and features a star-studded voice cast including Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemsworth. It’s an epic experience best enjoyed on the big screen, but still holds up as an entertaining watch at home on Prime Video. Both kids and adults are likely to enjoy it.
1. The Grey (2012)
Liam Neeson films consistently perform well on streaming services, and several are usually available on Prime Video. The Grey is a standout, though not one of his most famous, showcasing both his ability to deliver thrilling action and his dramatic acting skills. In this film, he doesn’t play a character seeking revenge, but rather a man fighting to survive against the forces of nature.
Following Liam Neeson’s popularity with the Taken movies, The Grey really showcases his ability to play a convincing, strong character. But it’s more than just an action film – it’s a compelling story of people versus the wilderness, which sets it apart from many of his other recent roles. Films like The Grey are a great reason to watch Prime Video, and it deserves to be seen by more people.
