Currently, Lumbly is significantly impacting the superhero genre through his portrayal of Isaiah Bradley in the MCU. He debuted this character in 2021’s “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” and recently reprised the role for “Captain America: Brave New World” where he had an especially challenging running scene. As a dedicated admirer of his portrayal of Martian Manhunter, I couldn’t help but ask him about his ideas for J’onn if he were to be incorporated into the DC Universe. He shared those thoughts with me:

Unlike the anticipated encounter with the Daleks or Cybermen for Ncuti Gatwa’s Fifteenth Doctor and Varda Sethu’s Belinda Chandra as suggested by RTD (via Digital Spy), season 15 of “Doctor Who” reintroduces one of its most frightening standalone antagonists. The events of episode 3, “The Well,” can be seen as a continuation of the David Tennant episode “Midnight.” In this installment, the Doctor once again confronts the faceless entity on the planet Midnight.

2016 saw the release of the film “Passengers,” featuring Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt as characters Aurora and Jim. These two colonists find themselves accidentally awakened from their deep sleep on a voyage to a distant, colonized planet, potentially facing a gruesome demise due to being awake before their journey’s end.

Filmmaker Nisha, aged 50, is directing the follow-up to the 2003 Disney comedy that’s scheduled for release in cinemas on August 8th.
