Doctor Who Season 2, Episode 4 Review: An Infuriating New Villain

In the world of ‘Doctor Who’, it’s my luck, or rather destiny, that shapes the narrative of ‘Lucky Day’. It all began when I chanced upon the TARDIS on New Year’s Eve in 2007, at the tender age of eight. Fast forward a decade, and I find myself meeting Ruby Sunday. However, as is typical with this extraordinary series, there’s a twist to our love story that leaves you reeling. The rollercoaster ride that follows is filled with highs and lows, but the bigger truth remains elusive.

Alex Garland’s Secret A24 War Trilogy Near Completion with One Film Left

It’s not the first time Garland has made a movie, and it’s not his initial collaboration with A24 either. His filmmaking journey started back in 2002 when he penned the chilling horror masterpiece, “28 Days Later”, which soon gained cult status. Four years later, he ventured into directing with the sci-fi suspense film, “Ex Machina”. Interestingly, A24 has been involved in distributing three out of Garland’s five directorial projects to date. Therefore, it’s likely that “Warfare” won’t be the only one. This potential continuation could lead to an intriguing pattern within A24, a trend that hasn’t been explored much before by the company.

Lackluster Return of Ruby Sunday in Doctor Who S15E4

The opening scene of ‘Lucky Day’ promises an exciting addition to the classic series of Doctor Who, but sadly, the episode falls flat overall. I appreciate political elements in television, and they’ve always been a part of the core of Doctor Who. However, when these themes dominate the narrative at the expense of the story itself, the show loses its charm. Doctor Who is known for pushing limits, and it’s stronger because of that, but it’s also been clever in how it integrates such themes, which were previously demonstrated in this season.
