It’s understandable that it might have taken some time for any Orion characters to enlist in Starfleet, given their history as slave traders and the Orion Syndicate’s criminal reputation in the earlier Star Trek series. By the time of Star Trek: Lower Decks, set in the 2380s, the Orions are generally viewed as pirates and criminals, making Tendi a notable exception among her species serving in Starfleet, much like Lt. Commander Worf or Lt. Nog from previous series.

At a recent ATX TV Festival panel, hosted by AMC Networks, Interview With The Vampire showrunner Rollin Jones provided updates on season 3. Although the discussion centered around AMC’s broader Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe franchise, Jones revealed that production for season 3 is set to commence in Toronto, Canada, starting June. Interview with the Vampire’s third season will be based on Anne Rice’s The Vampire Lestat, as the main character offers his perspective while touring with his newly formed rock band.

As a passionate cinephile, I’d like to share an interesting tidbit: The suit donned by the network broadcasting Sesame Street, Ken Burns documentaries, and PBS NewsHour, freely gracing millions of American households, has consistently emphasized that Congress has fortified Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) from political meddling. This safeguard is achieved by funneling funds through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), a distinct entity independent of any federal agency.

Journalist Jeff Sneider from The InSneider reported insights from an attendee at a screening, labeling the movie as “average” and “so-so.” He added that it wasn’t terrible but also not exceptional. However, comments about poor character development and subpar CGI might be cause for concern. Sneider mentioned that the issue with CGI is likely to be addressed in the coming weeks as visual effects are refined.

The film “Devotion,” which debuted on Tubi on May 1, currently ranks 9th on their top 10 movies chart. This is the second time in 2025 that “Devotion” has achieved a spot among the top 10 streaming hits; it previously reached this status during February as well.
