Ubisoft Announces Formation of ‘Dedicated Subsidiary’ Focused on Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six

Tencent, a Chinese corporation, has invested approximately 1.16 billion euros ($1.25 billion USD) for a roughly 25% share in one of Ubisoft’s subsidiaries. Notably, intellectual properties such as The Division and Ghost Recon are not part of this subsidiary; instead, they will remain under Ubisoft’s control. New intellectual properties being developed by the subsidiary will exist separately from Ubisoft’s existing IP portfolio. In other words, both the subsidiary’s IP and Ubisoft’s original IP like The Division and Ghost Recon will continue to be created simultaneously.
