Zuckerberg turns his nuclear bunker into Ewok forest from Star Wars

Mark Zuckerberg, the billionaire behind Meta, is building a large underground shelter on his property in California. It will include a simulated forest featuring giant sequoia trees.

For years, Mark Zuckerberg’s neighbors in Silicon Valley have been frustrated by the constant construction on his property, and they’ve been curious about what he’s building and when the work will be finished.

The construction of the bunker is finished, and they’re now working on the interior. Apparently, Mark Zuckerberg, who is a big Star Wars fan, is designing the space to resemble the Ewok village from the movie Return of the Jedi. It’s meant to be a secure, self-sufficient space, much like the tree village in the film.

Artists are currently working hard to create perfect copies of the trees that will decorate the large underground area.

If you find sequoia trees, you know you’re looking at something massive. Native to California, these trees are among the largest on Earth, often reaching heights of 85 meters and with trunks that can be 5 to 8 meters wide.

Mark Zuckerberg, his wife Priscilla Chan, and their three children live on a large property in Palo Alto he created by purchasing eleven neighboring homes. The estate includes amenities like a pickleball court, a recreation area, and a swimming pool, as well as a 7-foot silver statue of Chan. He reportedly spent $110 million just to acquire the land and houses.

Okay, so I’ve been following this family for ages, and they started this incredible homeschool co-op – it was amazing! They had fourteen kids, including their own, and four teachers, all learning together. It was exactly the kind of thing I dream of for my own kids! But then, sadly, they had to shut it down last year. Apparently, they didn’t have all the proper licenses or permissions, which is just so frustrating. I was really hoping it would work out, it was such a cool idea!

About ten years ago, Mark and Priscilla Zuckerberg tried to buy and tear down four houses surrounding their property to increase their privacy. They were initially denied permission, but neighbors recently told the New York Times that the couple built a private estate regardless.

Sources say Mark Zuckerberg is constructing a large, interconnected series of basements beneath his property, jokingly referred to as his ‘bat cave’. Planning documents indicate the space is around 7,000 square feet, but some speculate it might be even bigger.

Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, is among the world’s richest individuals, currently valued at $187 billion. However, his wealth recently dropped significantly after the company lost two court cases where it was determined to have negatively impacted teenagers. They plan to appeal these rulings.

The billionaire also owns several properties, including a large 14,000-acre estate in Hawaii. Interestingly, the only building on the property seems to be a self-sufficient bunker, complete with its own power source and the ability to grow all of its own food.

Mark Zuckerberg, now 41 years old, came up with the idea for Facebook while studying at Harvard University. Today, he leads the company as chairman and CEO, and holds the majority of its voting shares, both for the social network itself and its parent company, Meta Platforms.

Everyone knows he’s a big Star Wars fan. Back in 2015, he posted a cute photo of his baby daughter, Max, dressed up as a Jedi, with the caption: ‘The force is strong with this one.’

J Lo to bring a touch of Vegas to London

It’s been over ten years since Jennifer Lopez last performed in the UK, but rumors suggest she’s planning a trip to London after her incredibly popular 12 shows in Las Vegas sold out.

The 56-year-old singer and actress recently finished a very successful show in Las Vegas, consistently playing to sold-out crowds and receiving excellent reviews. The performance traces her life and career, from her early days as ‘Jenny From The Block’ to her current, contented phase, where she’s decided she’s done with marriage. Her divorce from her fourth husband, Ben Affleck, was finalized in January 2025.

Jennifer Lopez is reportedly energized by how well her Las Vegas show went, and sources say she’s planning to take it on a global tour, with a performance planned for our city.

She last performed in the UK at Hyde Park in 2013 as part of the British Summer Time festival. Prior to that, she played a series of shows at the O2 Arena in 2012.

Lashings of gore, a lesbian obsession… is Cannes ready for Gillian’s ‘Demi’ moment?

Is the glorious Gillian Anderson heading for a ‘Demi Moore’ moment at Cannes this year?

Demi garnered significant attention at the Cannes Film Festival and earned an Oscar nomination for her performance in the unsettling horror film, The Substance, released in 2024.

It appears the breakout hit this year will be a darkly titled new release called Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma.

The new film, from MUBI (the same company that released The Substance), centers on a director obsessed with a series of slasher movies called ‘Camp Miasma.’ He’s especially intrigued by the first film’s ‘final girl,’ played by the mysterious actress Anderson.

The young director will be portrayed by Hannah Einbinder, of Hacks.

The film depicts a passionate and all-consuming relationship between two women that spirals out of control. The trailer hints at intense, graphic scenes, including a lot of blood and intimate moments between the characters.

The film was directed by Jane Schoenbrun, a compelling filmmaker with unique perspectives. She has a strained relationship with her family, explaining that their ‘Zionist’ beliefs and upbringing in what she describes as a ‘tribalist ideology’ caused the distance.

Additionally, she practices polyamory and is in relationships with three people, including a long-term partner she’s been with since high school.

Finally, the director, known as ‘sapphicspielbrg’ on social media, is a transgender woman who has expressed frustration with feeling pressured to profit from her identity.

It’s easy to understand why ‘Emilia Perez’ is generating buzz: it was one of the biggest hits at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. However, the film’s awards momentum was unfortunately slowed down by controversial past social media posts made by its star, Karla Sofia Gascon.

Okay, so I’ve been checking the festival website constantly, and they’re finally announcing which films made the cut on April 9th! From what I’ve heard – and trust me, I’m plugged in – it’s going to be a really exciting year for independent films. Apparently, none of the big studio blockbusters even submitted, which is amazing. I’m hoping for a lot of fresh, innovative stuff this time around, and it sounds like that’s exactly what we’re getting! I literally can’t wait!

Mommie dearest and I…

Richard E. Grant remembers trying to rebuild his relationship with his mother, Leonne, before she passed away. They had grown apart when she left his father for his best friend when Grant was a child. Years later, after therapy, they started speaking again after a 32-year gap.

Shortly after Grant’s wife Joan died in 2021, he travelled to Swaziland to stay with his mother.

Grant explained that he cut a visit short after only seven days, instead of staying the planned two weeks, because the woman he was visiting seemed completely unfeeling. She herself had lost her husband a year earlier. He later emailed her, taking full responsibility for the failed visit and explaining that his own grief had made him difficult to be around.

She replied to Richard, saying she agreed his visit hadn’t gone well. She explained they didn’t really have anything in common besides a shared love of classical music and books.

Okay, so it looks like Tom Cruise is really back in the States! For over ten years, he’s made the UK his part-time home, but recently I spotted him front and center at a Scientology event in Florida – it was a celebration for the birthday of L. Ron Hubbard. It seems he’s shifting his focus and spending more time back with the organization’s base in the US, signaling an end to his long-term British chapter.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve observed that family connections often play a big role in people’s choices. In this case, both of my client’s children are deeply involved with Scientology. His son, Connor, actually lives in Clearwater, Florida – that’s where the main headquarters is located. And his daughter, Bella, has been living and working near East Grinstead in the UK, which is the European base for the religion.

It seems his new, critically-acclaimed film, ‘Digger,’ will likely debut at the Venice Film Festival in September. He’ll be attending the festival at the same time as Brad Pitt, who is expected to be there for his movie, ‘The Adventures Of Cliff Booth’.

Brenda falls for a fake… and it’s her own posh shop!

The design team for Channel 4’s drama, A Woman Of Substance, did an amazing job creating a realistic department store set. It was so convincing that the lead actress, Brenda Blethyn, actually tried to purchase dresses from it!

While enjoying a day off from filming in Liverpool, actress Blethyn – who plays Emma Harte – spotted a beautiful shop with eye-catching clothes displayed in its window.

Honestly, I was so focused on getting inside and shopping that I completely missed the sign! If I had glanced up, I would have noticed it said ‘Harte’s’ and realized it was a fake storefront – a total setup! But no, I was already mentally preparing my credit card for a serious shopping spree, completely oblivious.

I was excitedly telling a designer I’d met on the walk back to the hotel about something, but they kindly corrected me when I realized I was wrong.

Are Gen Z going to ride to the rescue of the movie business?

After the pandemic, older moviegoers haven’t gone back to theaters as much, opting instead to enjoy films at home on their large televisions.

Recent studies of popular movies show that young people still enjoy going to the cinema, but often to create content for social media platforms like Letterboxd. This explains the success of films like Zootopia 2 and the live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch.

Going to the movies is a popular and relatively inexpensive social activity for young people who aren’t big drinkers. According to James Connor from the UK Cinema Association, they want to be part of shared cultural experiences and ‘don’t want to miss out on the moment’.

Hannah Stokes, a social media executive, notes that young audiences like to be among the first to see movies so they can be the ones starting the discussion.
