The new animated film, Zootropolis 2, has quickly become a huge success, earning $1 billion worldwide in just 17 days. This makes it the fastest PG-rated movie to ever reach that milestone.
According to Variety, the movie has earned $232.7 million in the US and $753.4 million internationally, bringing its worldwide total to $986.1 million. Considering the recent reporting, it’s likely to exceed $1 billion in total earnings by Friday, December 12th.
The new Disney movie, Zootopia 2, has already earned over $1 billion, making it only the second Hollywood film to reach that milestone this year. It’s quickly becoming Disney’s biggest hit of the year, surpassing the $1.03 billion earned by the live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch.

The movie sequel had a hugely successful launch, earning $556 million worldwide – the fourth-highest opening of all time. This strong start suggested it would eventually reach $1 billion in total earnings.
In Zootropolis 2, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman return as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, teaming up to track down a puzzling reptile. The film is directed by Bush and Byron Howard.
The animated film boasts a star-studded voice cast, featuring Goodwin, Bateman, and a host of other well-known actors including Idris Elba, Ke Huy Quan, Andy Samberg, Shakira, David Strathairn, Danny Trejo, Jean Reno, and Macauley Culkin.
