Zootopia: Better Zoogether! 4D Show still set to open at Animal Kingdom in Winter 2025

As a lifelong Disney enthusiast who has been visiting Animal Kingdom since its opening day, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and bewilderment at the upcoming “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” 4D production. On one hand, I’m thrilled to see another beloved animated film brought to life in the park, especially considering the success of the original movie.

For several years, it has been common knowledge that Zootopia was destined for Animal Kingdom. In 2023, Disney revealed that the tale would become a reality within the park as a fresh 4D production, taking over the spot previously held by “It’s Tough to be a Bug!” in the Tree of Life.

The upcoming show, named “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!“, promises to lead visitors on a journey exploring various biomes featured in the movie. Originally announced for winter 2025, Disney has confirmed that this new attraction will open within that time frame, as mentioned in their latest blog post detailing upcoming enhancements to Walt Disney World next year.

“I want to remind you about the all-new 4D production coming to the Tree of Life Theater in winter 2025 – “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” You’ll want to herd the whole family together to join Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde and more for a new wild adventure that will make you want to clap your hands,” the post reads.

Beyond a poster and some information presented at D23 events, there isn’t much publicly available about the forthcoming 4D show. The production is inspired by the 2016 live-action buddy cop comedy film from Disney Animation Studios, which earned over $1 billion globally at the box office.

Eight years back, Zootopia became a significant success for Disney, both critically and commercially. In 2023, Disney CEO Bob Iger disclosed that a sequel was being created. The sequel will continue the story of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they work together undercover in Marsh Market to solve the mystery of a peculiar reptile.

Despite Zootopia being a film with anthropomorphic animals, its core message revolves around overcoming prejudice and racism rather than conservation – making it less in line with Animal Kingdom and Tree of Life’s themes. However, nowadays, Disney seems to focus more on promoting its intellectual properties (IPs) beyond their original park themes.
