The upcoming live-streamed concert at Horse Guards Parade in London is set to unite music, narrative, and homages in an emotional tribute honoring those who fought and made sacrifices during World War II.

Ball expressed his feelings about the unique celebration as follows: “It’s a genuine privilege for me to contribute, in some small way, to the festivities marking such a significant event. My beloved father, Johnny Ball, was six years old on VE Day, and his memories of that time are simply remarkable.

This evening, we’ll honor the trials and triumphs of our ancestors – from great-grandparents to immediate family members, as well as our beloved nation. Their courageous acts and sacrifices for our liberty should never be forgotten. Tonight’s events will showcase exceptional performances that pay tribute to their memory.

This event promises an impressive lineup of artists such as Samantha Barks, Fleur East, John Newman, Victor Ray, Freya Ridings, Keala Settle, Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Calum Scott, The Darkness, Toploader, Tom Walker, and the esteemed classical vocalist Sir Willard White. They will all be performing during the evening.

The professional dancers from Strictly Come Dancing – Amy Dowden, Carlos Gu, Karen Hauer, Neil Jones, Lauren Oakley, and Kai Widdrington – will join East on stage as he kicks off the concert.

Actresses Joan Collins, Mary Berry, and Sheila Hancock, along with “Succession” actor Brian Cox, are all scheduled to appear. They will perform a recreation of the famous wartime address given by Winston Churchill.

At the upcoming gathering, Kevin Eldon, Iain Glen, Nigel Havers, Sir Derek Jacobi, Larry Lamb, Alex Macqueen, and Daniel Mays are set to stage a heartfelt reprise of the classic series “Dad’s Army“.

In November, Ball informed everyone that she would no longer be hosting the BBC Radio 2 Morning Program, a position she had held for six years. Scott Mills has since taken over as the new host.
