Zoe shared on the Dig It! podcast that Prince William reached out when her mother was ill, sending a truly lovely letter. He also wrote to her again after her mother passed away.

I’ll never forget visiting my mom when she was very sick. My brother and I were both there, and I told her, “We got a letter.”

I read a letter from Prince William. He was facing personal challenges at the time, as both his father and his wife were battling cancer.

It was so thoughtful of him to write, and the letter really meant a lot to her. She absolutely cherished it.

Zoe added Prince William sent another letter after Julia died in April 2024.

A BBC radio host recalled a thoughtful act by the prince after seeing his interview with comedian Eugene Levy on Apple TV.

Zoe announced the sad news of her mother’s death on Instagram, sharing a heartfelt message: ‘Sleep tight, dear Mama.’

Thank you for showing us the power of unconditional love, courage, and kindness. You also taught us that even when things are hard, laughter is a wonderful thing to share.

We’re heartbroken without you, but we’ll lean on each other for strength. We’ll always remember your kindness and the way your smile brightened every space, and we believe your memory will shine like the stars and guide us.

When Zoe Ball’s mother became ill, Gaby Roslin sometimes filled in for her on the radio show, allowing Zoe to be with her family.

Just before Julia died, Zoe shared with her followers that Julia was entering hospice care, and admitted that the family was going through a very difficult time.

She shared that her mother is going through a difficult time and sent her lots of love.

The broadcaster’s son, Woody, who she shares with her former husband, Norman Cook – the DJ Fatboy Slim – also posted a tribute on Instagram.

He shared a heartwarming photo of his grandmother and wrote a goodbye message, thanking her for being such a wonderful person.

Woody, a contestant on the 2019 Netflix reality show The Circle, also mentioned his grandmother’s late husband, Rick Peckham.

He fondly remembered being the only one she consistently sent a Valentine’s Day card to. Knowing she’s now with Rick, he asked me to pass on his greetings and give Rick a hug.

I’ll never forget what he told us during that terrifying helicopter ride over the jungle. He said, ‘If you ever get completely lost, just follow the river – you’ll find him at the end.’ It always stuck with me, and I truly believe it. He’s someone you can always rely on to be there.
