Zoe Ball, 54, reveals she is suffering from a painful new health condition just weeks after making her Radio 2 comeback
Zoe Ball recently disclosed that she’s dealing with a fresh health issue, not long after returning to her role at Radio 2.
On Saturday’s broadcast, the star shared an update about her health, disclosing that she has recently been diagnosed with bursitis.
Bursitis refers to a condition where the bursae, which are small sacs filled with fluid that protect and cushion the joints, become inflamed and tender, causing pain and swelling in the affected area.
Last year, she announced that she was stepping down as the host of her Breakfast Show. She then disclosed that she had been dealing with another difficult health issue – TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder. )
Earlier this month, she announced that she was stepping down from her morning radio program due to a need to prioritize her family, and subsequently dealt with a health issue that brings about severe headaches.

In her program over the weekend, she mentioned her current condition, saying: “Indeed, I’ve developed bursitis at my age, which is fifty-four.
Regardless of her discomfort, she continues to work out with her private coach, Seth, in an effort to enhance her physical power.
On the show, she expressed gratitude towards Seth. She revealed that she discovered her fitness level rating, but couldn’t quite remember if it was a 4 or a 5.
I was rather proud of myself – out of about nine or ten attempts, you know. A journey begins with a single step, doesn’t it?
After taking a break to spend more time with her family, Zoe resumed hosting her Saturday afternoon program on BBC Radio 2 in May.
In December, the host chose to resign from her morning program to prioritize her family affairs, thereby saying goodbye to her annual earnings of approximately £950,000.
Greeting her audience once more, she declared: “Hi, it’s great to see you all again on a Saturday! I’m thrilled to be here.
‘This is where it all began for me back when I used to sweep up and make the teas.’

Delighted by the star’s comeback, a spectator penned: ‘It’s fantastic that you’re back; I much prefer spending my afternoons this way instead of mornings.’
Afterward, she continued by sharing more goodwill sentiments, and she expressed gratitude by saying, “What a pleasure it is to be present here. Thank you for all the messages you’ve sent.
Over the past six years, I’ve been honored to steer the BBC Radio 2 breakfast show, but now it’s time for a new chapter. I’m passing the reins to the fantastic Scott Mills as I choose to prioritize my family, especially after losing my dear mother Julia in April. It’s a bittersweet decision, but my loved ones need me more right now.
In February, it was officially declared that Radio 2 would implement programming adjustments, among which was the introduction of a brand new weekly show hosted by Zoe, airing from 1 to 3 in the afternoon.
Apart from that, she’ll additionally manage two unique programs, one among them being a BBC television special honoring Elaine Page’s 60-year journey in the entertainment industry.
Helena Thomas, who heads up Radio 2, stated: “Zoe is one of the United Kingdom’s beloved broadcasters, and I am delighted to share that she now has a fresh base at Radio 2 during Saturday afternoons.
‘Plus she’ll be hosting various specials for us throughout the year.’
