Zenless Zone Zero introduces a player-friendly rerun banner system that preserves pity

Story Highlights

  • Zenless Zone Zero brings a new rerun banner system that removes 50/50 for the first S-rank.
  • The rerun banner pity carries over, guaranteeing limited S-Rank Agents and W-Engines on future pulls.
  • Losing the 50/50 on a second one carries over, giving you two guaranteed pulls on the next rerun.

HoYoverse is updating the way players obtain characters in Zenless Zone Zero. They’re making the ‘gacha’ system more approachable with a new type of banner called ‘Exclusive Rescreening.’ A key change is that your progress towards guaranteed rare characters will now carry over between banners, instead of starting over each time.

You can now plan for limited rerun pulls with guarantee progress carrying over

Great news for ZZZ fans! The team is testing a new banner system where your progress towards a guaranteed rare character carries over each time the banner returns. Currently, banners featuring Alice, Silver Soldier Anby, and Astra are available.

If you have a special guarantee and then obtain a standard S-Rank Agent, the next time a limited banner appears, your first two S-Rank pulls will be the specific limited Agent you’re guaranteed. Simply put, when the banner returns, you’re guaranteed to get that Agent with your first pull – there’s no 50/50 chance involved.

You can now benefit from double guarantees on future reruns

If you previously failed to get an S-Rank Agent on a 50/50 chance while trying for a second one, that loss isn’t forgotten. The next time the banner appears, you’ll be guaranteed to get two limited S-Rank Agents. This also works independently for both character and W-Engine banners – each has its own separate pity counter that carries over.

I doubt this will happen often, and I agree with a Reddit user who pointed out that if it did, people might save their resources for these rebroadcasts instead of trying to get new characters when they first appear. However, I don’t see that as a problem, as another Redditor called it very generous to players.
