Zegna SS26 Is Laid-Back Luxury At its Finest

Summary

  • Departing from its Milan runway, Zegna has presented its SS26 show in Dubai. The collection blends tailored details with laid-back silhouettes adorned with summer checks, stripes, and a mixture of dessert hues, green, pink, and red.

For the first time, Zegna moved its runway show for the SS26 collection from Milan to Dubai. Additionally, they introduced their mobile “Villa Zegna” brand experience at this location.

The runway show commenced with a captivating live piano performance by British artist James Blake, which lent a more laid-back atmosphere than Zegna’s usual refined, contemporary vibe seen in previous seasons. To start, the designs were crafted from airy, pre-creased fabrics in shades reminiscent of deserts, adorned with checks and stripes. The styling – featuring collar pops, exposed chests, barefoot models carrying sandals, and garments knotted at the neck and waist – reinforced the holiday-inspired vibe even further.

Later, Zegna leads the crowd to a lush, vibrant oasis, showcasing an explosion of green hues, from fresh lime to deep olive and rich forest green. The collection incorporates textured linens, delicate wools, and shiny silks for smartly tailored jackets, two-piece ensembles, and pleated shorts. Notable design elements include Safari-inspired utility pockets, monk and camp collars, and plunging V-necks.

After the grand spectacle, I found myself captivated by the sunset’s vibrant hues – an explosion of violet-infused pinks, fiery corals, rich maroons, and deep Bordeaux reds. This energetic ending showcased Zegna’s more lively and youthful spirit, resonating with Gen Z’s preferences by featuring a collection awash in sweet pastels. Among the eye-catching pieces were an oversized waffle knit polo in playful pink and high-cut dress shorts in the same captivating shade.

The wealthy desert city of UAE, famous for its high-end shopping malls and modern skyscrapers, serves as a significant market for the brand due to the increasing number of luxury consumers in the country. As reported by WWD, Ermenegildo Zegna Group, which includes brands like Thom Browne and Tom Ford Fashion, earned over $700 million USD in sales within Europe, Middle East, and Africa region in 2024, accounting for about 35% of the group’s total revenues. Zegna currently operates six stores in the city, with additional outlets in Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, and Turkey within the Middle East region.
