As a fan who’s been following Zach Braff’s career since the early days of Scrubs, it’s fascinating to see how his journey has evolved. From his breakthrough role as J.D., to his directorial debut with Garden State, and now venturing into podcasts and Apple TV+ series, he continues to surprise us with his versatility.

Zach Braff expresses his enthusiasm about returning to play Dr. John ‘J.D.’ Dorian in a revival of the popular comedy series Scrubs, though the hold-up seems to be due to the involvement of its creator, Bill Lawrence.

The 49-year-old Grammy winner shared with ET on Monday, “I’ll be telling you something that no one else will understand.”

Having worked in the entertainment industry for quite some time now, I’ve learned that when Disney and Warner Bros. get together on a project, it usually means great things are coming our way. Bill has a deal with Warner Bros., and Scrubs is a Disney show. So, if these two giants of media can find common ground, I have no doubt that fans will finally see the collaboration they’ve been longing for. It’s only a matter of time before it happens, and when it does, it’ll be worth the wait!

Zach maintains a strong bond with the popular 55-year-old director, who recently worked with him on his latest Apple TV+ series titled “Bad Monkey”, following their previous collaboration on the Apple TV+ dramedy “Shrinking”.

“[Bill] is simply an exceptional storyteller, unlike anyone else I know. He manages to create and oversee multiple shows simultaneously, all while being the kindest individual. Frankly, I feel incredibly fortunate to be associated with him,” Braff expressed enthusiastically.

Oh, the sheer joy I’d experience if we could reunite for another round of Scrubs with my beloved cast! Time hasn’t diminished the bond we share; it’s a fact, not just something people on long-running shows say. My recent getaway with Sarah Chalke in Montauk is proof of our enduring friendship. Next weekend, I’ll be catching some sun with Bill – another testament to the camaraderie that continues to thrive among us! We’re more than just colleagues; we’re friends.

Originally from New Jersey, the individual went into more depth about why the actors from Scrubs became so drained following the completion of nine seasons of the highly praised show that broadcasted on both NBC and ABC between 2001 and 2010.

After nine years had passed, we were all quite tired from it, Zach confessed on Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast Inside of You on Tuesday.

During that period, we found ourselves telling similar jokes over and over again. Everyone was feeling quite drained. It was a time when we worked such long hours, far beyond what people do nowadays, even if you’ve experienced it on Smallville. We barely had any life outside of work. In essence, we were all exhausted.

On Wednesday night, I’ll be cheering on my dear friends and former co-stars, Zach Braff (who plays J.D.) and Donald Faison (the legendary Dr. Turk) as they team up for the celebrity edition of ABC’s Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, hosted by none other than Jimmy Kimmel! Can’t wait to see them shine!

The French Girl actor told ET that it was incredibly entertaining; of course, I won’t reveal any secrets, but let me tell you, there were plenty of hilarious moments where we couldn’t help but laugh heartily.

‘It was really fun.’

2020 marked the beginning of a weekly iHeartRadio podcast titled “Fake Doctors, Real Friends” by Zach and an actress from Clueless who’s 50 years old. In this podcast, they revisit each episode of Scrubs in chronological order, with the series continuing to be popular.

In the upcoming series, Bill Lawrence’s highly praised 10-episode interpretation of Carl Hiaasen’s 2013 novel “Bad Monkey,” Braff will take on the role of Israel O’Peele. This new production is set to debut on Apple TV+ from Wednesday.

As an ardent admirer, I can hardly contain my excitement as I share this fantastic news! The remarkable mind behind Mattachine Family is set to lend his voice to a captivating character in a comedic podcast titled “The Best Man’s Ghostwriter,” starring none other than the charismatic Glen Powell of Twister fame. This auditory treat will premiere on Audible Original on September 12th, and I can hardly wait!

Zach has some unique plans set for the soundtrack, scheduled for around the beginning of next year, as a tribute to mark the 20-year anniversary of his initial directorial effort, ‘Garden State’.
