Zac Efron is dapper in a retro-inspired suit as he films A24 thriller Famous in LA
As a dedicated follower of Hollywood happenings and a connoisseur of Zac Efron‘s career evolution, I must say that the recent images of him filming for the A24 project “Famous” have filled me with anticipation. The man who once graced our screens as Troy Bolton in High School Musical is now stepping into a new era, taking on dual roles and working alongside some of the industry’s most promising directors.
On a recent day in Los Angeles, it was evident that Zac Efron was making an effort to stand out while filming scenes for his forthcoming A24 production titled “Famous” – all this took place on a Friday.
37-year-old actor, famously known for his role in High School Musical, was spotted recently off-set, preparing for his character alongside fellow cast member, Ernie Hudson, outside a residence.
In the 50s style, Efron donned a charcoal gray suit. He complemented it with a crisp white dress shirt and a stylish brown, checkered tie.
Apart from that, he put on a stylish pair of black shoes and held a black briefcase in his hand as well.
During the filming of a part of the movie, Zac too chose a brief hairstyle – this production being overseen by director Jody Hill.
Back in July of this year, it became known that he had been chosen for a role in an upcoming film, marking his second collaboration with A24 after his portrayal in “The Iron Claw,” which hit theaters in December 2023.
Known for his roles in the Ghostbusters series, Hudson donned a vintage style with a chocolate-hued jacket, complemented by beige trousers and matching footwear.
During breaks from filming, Zac and Ernie were seen engaging in a cheerful chat, which appeared to be set in the garden of a residence in Los Angeles.
The rest of the team were observed standing close by on a veranda while they got ready to capture the scene with the two main actors.
Known for its namesake novel, penned by Blake Crouch (also author of Dark Matter), stands as famous.
In this movie, the actor who once graced Disney Channel now portrays two characters – a charming leading man named James Jansen and a devoted fan called Lance Dunkquist.
The premise is: ‘Lance Dunkquist has the face of a movie star. Not just any movie star – Lance has been mistaken for Hollywood star James Jansen 228 times.’
‘Lance is now headed for Los Angeles, determined to turn his dream into reality, no matter the cost.’
Approximately two months ago, in September, it became known that Phoebe Dynevor, who plays in Bridgerton, would be part of the upcoming cast, according to Deadline.
Just recently, I’ve found myself caught up in the filming of yet another exciting sequence for my latest project, Famous. Notably, I’ve been maintaining a rather familiar hairdo, reminiscent of the style I sported as Troy in High School Musical.
On Friday, Zac had dressed up in a formal suit, but over the weekend, he switched to a casual look, sporting a simple white shirt and gray sweatpants, which stood out differently from his previous attire.
During one scene, the actor maintained a grave countenance, yet after breaks, he revealed a broad grin when conversing with one of the production team members.
More recently, Efron appeared in the Netflix romantic comedy titled “A Family Affair,” alongside Nicole Kidman and Joey King.
The film was released on a streaming platform over the summer, specifically in June – however, it garnered a mix of positive and negative opinions from critics.

He mentioned, “I will undoubtedly choose more wisely, I believe, in the most effective manner. That’s why I’ve always aspired to produce films.
I consider this duty-bound task from now on, which inherently makes me choosier in the future. It also demands quite a bit of energy. Therefore, I believe that doing less can be more beneficial in such instances.
Later on, Efron stated, “I truly appreciate collaborating with directors who possess a clear vision and are capable of guiding me. As for my preferred genre or film style, I don’t have a particular preference for what could captivate me next.
“Regardless of which option it turns out to be, I have an affection for each one. What I truly desire is for the experience to be genuine and sincere, allowing me to invest myself completely.
In the past three months, Zac has taken on two new roles in the show “Famous,” following his hospitalization during a swim at an opulent villa in Ibiza back in August.
He broke his silence soon afterwards by uploading an Instagram photo of himself exercising outdoors while shirtless. The star simply penned, ‘Happy and Healthy, thanks for the well wishes.’
Later on, insiders revealed to TMZ that Efron accidentally swallowed a significant amount of water into his lungs when he jumped into the pool while hanging out with friends.
After High School Musical, it seemed somewhat troubled or disoriented for a brief moment.
After the swift arrival of medical personnel, Efron was transported to a hospital for a preventative check-up.
After having X-rays done to confirm that there was no water in his lungs, Efron received a clean bill of health from the medical professionals at the facility.
