As an ardent fan, I can’t help but admire Yvette Fielding’s resilience and courage throughout her extraordinary career. From her early days on Blue Peter to her groundbreaking work on Most Haunted, she has faced challenges that would make most of us quiver in fear. The incident in Edinburgh, where a crew member’s injury defied logic, left Yvette so shaken that she couldn’t leave her house for weeks – a testament to the profound impact these experiences can have on us.

Yvette Fielding quit Most Haunted after a terrifying incident ‘defied all logic’.

The presenter, who is now 55 years old, has been hosting the paranormal reality series since 2002. During a live broadcast in Edinburgh, she decided to leave abruptly.

As a devoted team member, I found myself unexpectedly confronted with an injury, its cause remaining a mystery. When the situation called for immediate medical attention, I was whisked away to the hospital. This incident, however, served as a turning point for me – I realized it was time for a change.

She told The Sun: ‘The worst one was the sound guy who collapsed onto the floor because he had such a deep cut in the side of his leg, you could see the bone. And he had to go to A&E to get it stitched up.

It’s pretty awkward since I had to resign on the spot, as I couldn’t make sense of the situation. I witnessed it unfold myself, and it simply didn’t align with any reasonable explanation.

Previously competing on “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!”, the participant found herself utterly stunned by the occurrence, causing her to become a virtual homebody and avoid leaving the house.

It was the initial moment she entertained the thought that spirits might potentially inflict harm on anyone.

She added: ‘I was so frightened, I didn’t sleep for weeks and was too scared to leave the house.’

Her remarks were made a few days following her disclosure that she had yet to receive an apology from the BBC regarding how she claims she was mistreated in the initial stages of her television career.

As a mere teenager, Yvette secured a hosting position on the network’s leading kids’ show. Previously, she had mentioned that her supervisor, Biddy Baxter, would often criticize her by saying she was ‘too heavy and incompetent’.

But, she insisted that the ‘abuse’ only gave her the impetus to carry on in the world of showbiz.

She mentioned that they’ve never offered an apology to her, but it doesn’t faze her. She’s not resentful or upset over the situation. Instead, she considers it a learning experience.

In 1992, the television personality left Blue Peter following five years on the show. A decade later, she founded her own production company together with her husband, Karl Beattie.

Yvette asserted that following her job victory, she was required to relocate from her family home, subsequently got a flight to Russia for approximately six weeks, only to learn later from the producers that she would reside with and take care of Bonnie.

The television personality said the responsibility of looking after Bonnie, who was a puppy from Blue Peter dog Goldie’s second litter, was terrifying as she was ‘the most famous dog in the country’.

She remarked, “I often felt isolated since I was the youngest. People viewed me as a child and, at times, an annoying one,” Yvette shared during the Celebrity Catch-Up: Life After That Thing I Did podcast.
