Yungblud tearfully reveals the late Ozzy Osbourne ‘meant everything to him’ and admits the Black Sabbath star’s death has been ‘overwhelming’

Young Blud emotionally expressed in a recent interview that the late Ozzy Osbourne was incredibly meaningful to him.

In 2022, the English musician formed a particularly close bond with Ozzy, reminiscent of a father and son, which seemed to deepen over time.

British singer-songwriter Dominic Harrison, better known by his stage name Yungblud, apparently delivered an emotional tribute at the funeral of Black Sabbath’s lead vocalist, Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away at the age of 76 on July 22nd.

As an ardent fan, I had the incredible opportunity to witness Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell performance live at Birmingham’s Villa Park in June. Amidst his declining health, it was truly a privilege to be there and soak up every moment of his legendary show.

This week, Yungblud (aged 28) shared with The Times that learning about the tragic news of someone’s passing left him feeling incredibly overwhelming. He explained that he discovered the news while isolated on an island, disconnected from the internet, where he had been working on new music.

In an interview, he shared that he believed Ozzy still had five more albums within him, only for Ozzy to perform the show and pass away shortly after. The news is simply overpowering.

With a tremble in his voice, he said, “I cannot hide my affection. Throughout our journey together, he stood by me unwaveringly. My emotions are stirred, for my affection for him dates back to when I was just around two years old.

Through him, I learned to believe in myself, and I intend to carry that spirit with me forever, ensuring that everyone understands the significant impact Ozzy Osbourne had on my life. He was more than just a figure to me.

This month, Yungblud posted a photo of a gift he received from the late rocker, which was given just hours following a funeral service at his home in Buckinghamshire, where Yungblud had delivered a eulogy.

In the spirit of sharing cherished memories, I recently posted a captivating close-up shot on Instagram of the cross necklace Ozzy graciously bestowed upon me last year, during our collaboration on the music video for “The Funeral” in 2022.

As an over-the-moon fanboy, I was beyond thrilled when Yungblud reciprocated the love by presenting Ozzy with a personally crafted cross pendant necklace prior to Black Sabbath’s last performance at Villa Park in Birmingham – their hometown stage! What a heartwarming gesture from one legend to another!

In a heartfelt message, he penned this caption: ‘Goodnight Oz. Your light continues to radiate eternally. I adore you.’ Fans observed and commented that Ozzy has symbolically handed over his mantle of ‘darkness’ to Yungblud in the caption.

Previously, Yungblud shared that the gift from Ozzy Osbourne was his most treasured possession. He expressed a deeply emotional tribute to the rock legend, saying he was “truly heartbroken.

At Black Sabbath’s farewell performance, the artist sang “Changes” and promised to perform it for Ozzy Osbourne in future shows.

Legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne was laid to rest on the property of his personal mansion in Buckinghamshire, fulfilling his expressed wish.

At an event held in their residence close to Gerrards Cross, Sharon, his widow aged 72, and their children were accompanied by notable figures from the heavy rock scene, as they paid respects to the deceased near a lake situated within a large 250-acre property that was his final resting place.

Marilyn Manson served as a leading figure among the celebrities attending Ozzy Osbourne’s private funeral, where the legendary heavy metal artist was bid farewell.

After the funeral, I found myself reaching for my phone and pouring out my heart on Instagram: “Today, we said goodbye to a cherished companion. I feel profoundly thankful that you allowed me a glimpse into your world, Ozzy. You’ve left an indelible mark on mine.

Forever, your inspiration and affection remain close to my heart. A heartfelt thank you to Sharon and the entire family for conducting such a solemn, enchanting ceremony. The essence of your impact continues to resonate.

Guests also included Manson’s wife Lindsay Usich and Ozzy’s lead guitarist Zakk Wylde.

In a touching tribute, Ozzy Osbourne performed his final concert at Villa Park stadium in Birmingham, his hometown, just over three weeks prior to his passing. This marked the first time since 2005 that he shared the stage with his original Black Sabbath bandmates once more.

Over 42,000 people crammed the venue for the Back To The Beginning concert, where, in his closing remarks, he expressed to the audience from the depths of his feelings: ‘I can hardly express what you mean to me – my deepest gratitude goes out to each and every one of you.’

The screen displayed a message saying: “Thank you for everything, you’re absolutely fantastic. Long live Birmingham,” followed by the night sky illuminating with dazzling fireworks.

He announced that this would be his final performance, as he revealed his struggle with Parkinson’s disease, which he disclosed in the year 2020.

He is survived by his wife Sharon and his five children Jessica, Louis, Aimee, Kelly and Jack.
