Yungblud reveals he will honour the late Ozzy Osbourne with a special tribute at the VMAs  as singer shares sweet black-and-white photos with the late rock legend

On Sunday evening, Yungblud plans to pay tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne during the VMAs in a unique and meaningful way.

On Friday, the 28-year-old English musician announced the news on Instagram by sharing a series of heartwarming black-and-white images featuring him alongside the legendary rock artist from Black Sabbath.

2022 saw the formation of a deep bond between Yungblud, otherwise known as Dominic Harrison, and Ozzy, reminiscent of a strong father-son connection.

In simpler terms, Ozzy, who was 76 years old, sadly passed away on July 22nd. It’s been reported that Yungblud delivered an emotional tribute at his funeral service.

Additionally, he took part in the legendary metal artist’s final farewell show held at Villa Park, Birmingham, in June, as his health was deteriorating.

Now, the rock star is preparing to honour his idol on one of music’s biggest stages. 

On Instagram, Yungblud shared a touching tribute, saying: “I’ve been asked to honor you at the @vmas this Sunday evening. I’ll strive my hardest to make you proud, Oz. Don’t miss it! From above, I send my eternal love.

The news follows Yungblud sharing, last month, the heartbreaking manner in which he discovered Ozzy’s passing, having spoken openly about their strong bond of friendship.

The singer reported that he had been texting with Ozzy moments before Jack Osbourne contacted him to inform him that “he has passed away.

He shared with The Sun, “The last two weeks have felt quite strange due to a personal connection I made, someone I care for deeply, departing.

‘I was texting him, then his son Jack text me and said “He’s gone”. I’m like, “What?”‘ 

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but express my heartfelt sentiments about the profound and sincere service that unfolded at the funeral. It’s difficult to put into words, but the palpable sense of ‘genuine affection’ that filled the room left me in awe. Yungblud’s words mirrored mine, as we were both swept away by the overwhelming display of love and connection that day.

He stated, ‘The overwhelming love I experienced being with my family during the funeral was incredibly genuine. They truly embody the essence of a real family. My ultimate aspiration is to have children and build such a loving family without any pretenses or artificiality.’

Earlier this month, rocker Yungblud posted a photo of the memento he received from his deceased friend, just hours following a heartfelt eulogy delivered at the latter’s funeral in Buckinghamshire, which he hosted at his residence.

Shared on Instagram was a detailed photo of the cross necklace that Ozzy gave him during the making of “The Funeral” music video in 2022.

Later, Yungblud reciprocated with a kind gesture by presenting Ozzy Osbourne a unique, custom-designed cross pendant just prior to Black Sabbath’s last performance.

He wrote this in his caption: “Goodnight, Oz. Your light continues to radiate eternally. I adore you.” Fans commented, implying that Ozzy has now handed over his symbolic ‘torch of darkness’ to Yungblud.

Youngblood earlier shared that Ozzy’s gift held the greatest value for him, as he penned an emotionally moving eulogy for the renowned rock artist.
