YouTube will air its first exclusive NFL game from Brazil
YouTube secures its initial live professional football broadcast, making it the first platform to do so during the opening week of the NFL season, thereby expanding its share of the NFL.
As a passionate cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that I have the global rights to stream the highly anticipated clash between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs, taking place on September 5 in São Paulo, Brazil. This epic encounter will unfold at the Corinthians Arena, a stadium steeped in soccer history, home to the illustrious Brazilian team SC Corinthians.
YouTube currently hosts the NFL’s Sunday Ticket package, a subscription service that allows fans to watch network TV games from outside their local markets for an annual fee. However, the upcoming Brazil game will be accessible for free to every user on YouTube.

Beginning in September, sports enthusiasts who don’t have a cable package can gain access to all ESPN channels that are owned by Disney.
Despite having long-term media contracts with Fox, NBCUniversal, CBS, ESPN, and Amazon, the NFL has successfully obtained rights for certain games that can be streamed. Last season, Netflix secured two Christmas games, and they will continue to broadcast games in the 2025-26 season as well.
Recognizing the significant role that conventional TV networks still play, the NFL acknowledges a shift in viewing habits among younger generations towards streaming services, particularly YouTube. To maintain and grow its audience in the coming years, league executives emphasize the importance of appealing to these streaming viewers.
YouTube has partnered with the NFL for a multiannual agreement covering the yearly Super Bowl Flag Football Game. This event garnered over 6 million live views when it was initially streamed in February. The teams participating were captained by popular YouTube personalities IShowSpeed and Kai Cenat.
