YouTube TV Pays Subscribers Amid Disney Blackout

YouTube TV and Disney are still locked in a disagreement and haven’t come to terms on a deal. As a result, YouTube TV will now face consequences.

The dispute between Disney and YouTube TV led to Disney content being removed from the streaming service. YouTube TV has said it’s working to restore Disney channels and has offered subscribers $20 credits if the issue isn’t resolved quickly.

Disney channels are still missing from YouTube TV after more than a week of talks. To make up for the disruption, YouTube TV is giving customers a $20 credit on their next bill, starting November 9, 2025. Subscribers who qualify will receive the credit by November 12, 2025. A basic YouTube TV plan currently costs $82.99 per month.

YouTube TV said that if they reach an agreement with Disney over the weekend, all channels will be back up and running quickly, so customers won’t miss Monday Night Football on ESPN and ABC.

A YouTube TV representative apologized to customers, acknowledging their frustration with the recent service interruption. They stated they are still working with Disney to find a reasonable solution and bring Disney’s channels back to YouTube TV quickly.

They also criticized Disney, saying the company was uncooperative and demanding an unreasonable amount of money. They stated that instead of trying to find a compromise, Disney was using the same tactics as before.

Customers are still facing the service disruption, and it doesn’t look like a resolution is coming quickly. Disney and ESPN leaders (Dana Walden, Alan Bergman, and Jimmy Pitaro) announced on Friday that they haven’t made any progress toward an agreement.

We know you’re eager to have ESPN and ABC back on our service, and we’re just as disappointed as you are that we don’t have an answer yet. Unfortunately, we’re facing another busy sports weekend without a resolution.
