YouTube reportedly remonetizes Dr Disrespect’s channel 6 months after controversy
YouTube has reactivated Dr Disrespect’s monetization, leading to a flurry of responses within the gaming community.
Six months following accusations about inappropriate messaging with a minor on Twitch, it is now confirmed that Dr Disrespect’s YouTube channel has resumed earning revenue again.
Although YouTube hasn’t officially announced that Dr Disrespect’s channel is back to earning revenue, the streamer himself spoke about it during his recent live broadcasts on Rumble and YouTube.
Dr Disrespect goes live on YouTube and Rumble, announcing his YouTube is officially remonetized
Today, the well-known streamer shared on both platforms that his YouTube channel is now back earning money again. A couple of months back, he mentioned partnering with Rumble, which means he can continue earning income even while live streaming.
Looks like I’ll be raking in some dough once more with my revitalized YouTube channel. After all, it’s home to millions of viewers!
Ladies and gentlemen, we’ve successfully reinstated our YouTube monetization,” said Dr Disrespect during his stream today.
On the very same day, it was revealed that Midnight Society, the gaming studio where Dr Disrespect initially co-founded and subsequently parted ways with, declared its permanent shutdown.
Should Dr Disrespect’s YouTube channel have stayed demonetized?
Is it debatable if the creator’s YouTube channel should have remained non-monetized, given the chain of contentious incidents surrounding their character? With each new development, there has been a growing expectation that this person’s streaming career might decline.
Regrettably, erasing someone’s presence entirely from the realm of streaming requires all platforms to decide against allowing their content.
Initially, Dr Disrespect was suspended from Twitch in 2020, with details about the ban only becoming public knowledge in June 2024, shedding light on a mysterious sphere that he maintains. Soon after it was disclosed that he had sent inappropriate messages to a minor, YouTube removed monetization from his entire channel.
It appears that this significant victory has benefited numerous individuals within our community, however, regrettably, it looks like the creator is set to earn revenue from YouTube once more.
