Your Monster trailer: Melissa Barrera falls in love with the beast living in her closet
As a seasoned gamer and movie enthusiast with a soft spot for indie horror-comedies, I can confidently say that “Your Monster” is shaping up to be a delightful addition to my watchlist this Halloween season. With its unique blend of humor, romance, and horror, the film promises an engaging and entertaining experience that’s sure to captivate audiences.
As a gamer, I’d put it like this:
Feeling down after their breakup, Laura returns to live with her family in her old childhood home. To add insult to injury, she learns that her former partner is staging a musical they had collaborated on. But things take an unexpected turn when she finds a peculiar, endearing creature hiding in her wardrobe. As they grow closer, the monster offers Laura emotional support, inspiring her to rediscover her voice and pursue her aspirations once more, perhaps even sparking a new romantic interest.
In the main character’s part, Melissa Barrera (known for her role as Abigail) takes on Laura Franco, while Tommy Dewey, recognized from shows like “Pivoting” and “Casual”, portrays the Monster. The ensemble also features Edmund Donovan as Jacob, Meghann Fahy as Jackie Dennon, and Kayla Foster as Mazie.
Back in January 2024, Your Monster made its debut at the Sundance Film Festival. In March, Vertical Entertainment acquired the rights for distribution. Now, horror enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting this romantic horror-comedy, set to hit cinemas on October 25th, perfect timing for Halloween. Although numerous horror films will be released in October, don’t forget to add Your Monster to your must-watch list – it’s not one you’d want to miss!
