Jon Hamm’s latest crime thriller on Apple TV is a must-watch for the weekend, especially with the second season arriving next month. Hamm, famous for his work in shows like Mad Men, Fargo, Landman, and The Morning Show, leads this popular series, which boasts an 82% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and has already been picked up for a third season.
Jon Hamm is a celebrated TV actor, best known for his award-winning role as the complex character Donald Draper, for which he won an Emmy. He’s been nominated for a total of 18 Emmys throughout his career, thanks to roles in shows like 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Although his current Apple TV series hasn’t received any Emmy nominations yet, it’s still a fantastic choice for a weekend binge, especially with season 2 premiering on April 3.
Your Friends & Neighbors Is A Great Length For A Weekend Binge
With only nine episodes in its first season, Your Friends & Neighbors is the perfect length for a weekend watch on Apple TV. Each episode runs between 48 and 62 minutes, making it easy to enjoy in a couple of viewings rather than trying to watch it all at once. The show was a popular hit for Apple TV last year and even received an Emmy nomination for its theme music.
Apple TV is clearly committed to Your Friends & Neighbors, despite it not becoming a massive hit like some of their other popular new shows, such as The Studio and Severance. However, Jon Hamm is a consistently excellent actor who’s been delivering strong performances for almost twenty years, which suggests the show will likely run for at least three seasons.
Beyond Jon Hamm’s performance, the crime thriller series Your Friends & Neighbors boasts strong creative talent and a talented supporting cast. Creator Jonathan Tropper has a solid track record with popular shows like Warrior, See, and Banshee, and recently penned the screenplay for the comedy The Wrecking Crew. The series also stars Olivia Munn, Amanda Peet, Hoon Lee, Mark Tallman, and other skilled actors.

With the second season of Your Friends & Neighbors coming to Apple TV in just under two weeks, now is the perfect time to watch or revisit the show. Your Friends & Neighbors centers around Andrew Cooper, played by Hamm, a former hedge fund manager who turns to burglary after losing his job. To maintain the appearance of wealth and support his family’s lifestyle in an affluent neighborhood, he specifically targets his neighbors, stealing their valuable possessions.
Okay, so this guy, Andrew – everyone calls him Coop – starts running a little scheme on his neighbors, and honestly, it’s going surprisingly well at first. They’re pretty oblivious, which helps! But things take a major turn when he accidentally breaks into the wrong house in Westmont Village, and suddenly he’s in way over his head. Seriously, the danger is intense! Look, Matt Hamm is fantastic in Your Friends & Neighbors – he’s got that natural charisma that just draws you in – but what really sets this show apart from a lot of other stuff on Apple TV+ is that it’s not just a comedy, it’s got some genuine crime elements that keep you hooked.
Beyond Jon Hamm’s performance and the upcoming second season, “Your Friends & Neighbors” on Apple TV is compelling because it explores the idea that the traditional American Dream isn’t all it seems. The show’s main character, Coop, discovers that much of what appears successful and meaningful is actually a hollow facade, offering comfort without genuine substance. If you enjoy crime thrillers with a thought-provoking edge, “Your Friends & Neighbors” is well worth watching this weekend.
