Young Sheldon star Raegan Revord came out as nonbinary earlier this year.
In a recent chat with Entertainment Tonight, I, 17-year-old Revord (Missy Cooper on CBS), found inspiration watching others boldly express their identities as they matured, and this empowerment fueled my own journey towards self-disclosure.
In a casual and understandable way: ‘Growing up, when I saw someone famous or not, who came out as nonbinary, queer, or similar, it felt amazing because I thought, “Wow, they’re like me!” This is so inspiring to me,’ Revord expressed.
Record, who prefers using they/them pronouns, expressed joy at finding themselves able to offer comfort and support to those experiencing something similar.
Now it feels surreal to find myself in a position where someone else might look up to me and think, ‘Wow, that could be me.'” (Revord said)
Record stated that it seemed incredibly absurd because, at some point in his life, he had walked in the same shoes as that child.

This year, followers of the entertainer started noticing that they had switched to using different pronouns on their social media accounts.
As a dedicated admirer, I’d say I feel thrilled to be in a place where I can extend comfort and support to those who find themselves in similar circumstances, just like Revord seems to do!
This year, followers of the entertainer started noticing a change in their preferred pronouns on their social media accounts.
In an interview, Record discussed their debut novel, a humorous romance targeted towards young adults, named “Rules for Faking a Girlfriend.
In the story, we follow the main character, Avery Blackwell, as she journeys to Brighton, England – a place linked to her deceased mother’s past – to take part in a treasure hunt her mother meticulously arranged before she died.
As a fervent admirer, I’ve long harbored this dream – to weave tales steeped in the charm and mystery of England. That’s why I decided to set my story amidst its enchanting landscapes, Revord explained.
They noted: ‘I adore this location, and it’s fascinating how numerous delightful romantic comedies are based in England – movies like Love Actually, Notting Hill, and The Holiday. I’ve always appreciated their distinctive charm.’
As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share this intriguing plot development: In a twist reminiscent of my cherished romance novels, it appears that the character ‘Avery’ has struck a deal, as enchanting as a storybook one, with a captivating local girl named Charlie.

If Avery agrees to feign being Charlie’s girlfriend as a means to stir up jealousy in someone, Charlie will assist Avery in solving the mystery of the scavenger hunt that Avery’s creative, bohemian mother left hidden on campus many years ago.
Revord chat with Woman’s World of their creative inspiration for the main character.
For quite some time, I’ve jotted down concepts for Avery, yet lacked a comprehensive plot or background. However, the central event served as the catalyst for this entire journey, which came about when a friend shared her possible health concerns with me. This sparked thoughts on how such a situation might influence other relationships.
They added, ‘That kind of led to what Avery and her mom’s relationship became.’
