Young Jedi Adventures nabs 4 Children's & Family Emmy nominations

As a seasoned gamer and animation enthusiast who’s been around the block more times than I care to remember, let me tell you, the Children’s & Family Emmy Awards nominations this year are nothing short of a breath of fresh air!

The nominations for The Children’s & Family Emmy Awards are here, and the preschool series Young Jedi Adventures nabbed four nominations!

Through Variety, the initial nomination is for Voice Directing in an Animated Series. This category includes competitions with Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Monsters at Work, as well as Young Love. Subsequently, the series is also contending in the Music Direction and Composition for an Animated Program category, facing off against Frog and Toad, Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, Looney Tunes Cartoons, and Orion and the Dark.

1st Nomination: The third contender is titled ‘Editing’ for a Pre-school Animated Series, competing against “Frog and Toad”, “StoryBots: Answer Time”, “StoryBots: Super Silly Stories With Bo”, and “The Tiny Chef Show”.

For three years now, the Children’s & Family Emmy Awards have been in existence – a fresh addition to the world of entertainment awards. As an ardent admirer of animation, particularly those designed for all ages, I find this development extremely beneficial. It has long been frustrating to see outstanding children’s series pitted against adult shows, which they rarely stood a chance against. Animation, in essence, transcends age boundaries and yet, for too long, series catering to both young and old audiences have been lumped together. The Annie Awards have established age-specific categories for quite some time, and it’s heartening to see the Emmy Awards adopt this approach as well.

In the time of The High Republic, the story unfolds around three young Jedi apprentices – Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs. They are on a journey to understand the principles of being a good Jedi. Alongside their pilot companion Nash Durango and her droid RJ-83, they embark on thrilling escapades. However, their path isn’t without challenges as they frequently face off against adversaries such as the mischievous young pirate Taborr Val Dorn and his crew or the cunning capitalist Gozzo, Raxlo, who seek personal gain at every turn. The series has just entered its second season and won accolades in two categories of last year’s Children’s & Family Emmy Awards.

You can watch Young Jedi Adventures on Disney+, Disney Jr., and some full episodes on Star Wars Kids YouTube Channel.
