The popular TV personality, Mae Martin, known for her role in Taskmaster, is set to unveil a fresh Netflix series titled Wayward, which promises to exhibit an unprecedented facet of the star.

The forthcoming production takes place in a picturesque town with hidden shadows, delving into the complexities of the “troubled teen industry” and intergenerational strife.

Originally known as “Tall Pines”, the series titled “Wayward” is a production by Martin from “Feel Good”, who also stars in it, along with Ryan Scott, another showrunner and executive producer. Ryan Scott has previously worked on scripts for shows such as “Fear the Walking Dead”, “Servant”, and “Revenge”.

The series, titled Wayward, comprises a total of eight episodes, making it one of the initial significant productions commissioned by Netflix in Canada.

Objective Fiction, a firm known for productions like “Feel Good”, “The Gold”, and “The Larkins”, has joined the team working on “Wayward”. Ben Farrell, their Creative Chief Officer, serves as an executive producer in this project. In addition, Sphere Media (notable for “Deepfake” and “Mea Culpa”) is involved too, with Jennifer Kawaja and Bruno Dubé taking on executive producer roles. Hannah Mackay from “Peep Show” also assumes the role of an executive producer.

However, once Dempsey uncovers the secret behind Tall Pines and their spouse’s hidden links to the malevolence the town shields, they are compelled to collaborate with our unlikely heroes, who have transformed from potheads, to bring it down by working from within.

2. Sarah Gadon, recognized from “Ferrari,” takes on the character of Laura.
3. Sydney Topliffe, a familiar face from “Murdoch Mysteries,” is featured.
4. Alyvia Alyn Lind, star of “Chucky,” appears in the cast.
5. Brandon Jay McLaren, best known for “The Rookie,” plays a role.
6. Patrick J Adams, remembered for his time on “Suits,” is part of the ensemble.
7. Joshua Close, previously seen in “Fargo,” joins the production.
8. Patrick Gallagher, known for “Big Sky,” is also included.
9. John Daniel, star of “Overcompensating,” portrays Rory.
10. Tricia Black, who played Suze, takes on Mule’s character.

A complete trailer hasn’t come out just yet, but earlier this year, a brief preview was unveiled. In the clip, we catch a glimpse of Adams’ character displaying a video to a high school student.
