You’ll never guess who helped create Macca’s new charity anthem – and it’s guaranteed to make Aussies smile on McHappy Day

McDonald’s is making this year’s McHappy Day bigger and better than ever, and they’re teaming up with a popular Australian electronic music duo to help spread the joy.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share some good news! Mashd N Kutcher just released the official anthem for McHappy Day 2025. It’s all about raising money for Ronald McDonald House Charities, and honestly, it’s such a feel-good track celebrating everything that matters – community spirit, bravery, and simple acts of kindness. It’s a great way to get involved and support a fantastic cause!

What really sets this song apart is that it includes the genuine voices and laughter of children who are staying at the Ronald McDonald House South Brisbane.

Whether it’s family conversations, children’s laughter, or even playful takes on well-known tunes, the song beautifully reflects the happiness and strength of families who benefit from the charity’s work.

Matt James, the lead singer of Mashd N Kutcher, said they were thrilled to participate in McHappy Day for the first time, in a statement to the Daily Mail.

McDonald’s invited us to create a song for McHappy Day, and we were thrilled to accept.

The popular musical duo, famous for their lively shows and unique mix of musical styles, recently visited the Ronald McDonald House in Brisbane. They spent time with the families and children staying there, and were inspired to create music based on their experiences.

Matt said they brought a keyboard and some percussion instruments to the House and let the children play music together.

We captured those special moments and wove them directly into the song. What you’re listening to isn’t just the music itself, but also the genuine happiness, laughter, and voices of the people involved, all blended into our overall sound.

He said the experience was ‘incredibly touching and inspiring’.

He shared that meeting the families and witnessing their resilience and positive attitudes despite hardship was a deeply moving experience he won’t soon forget. He added that their inspiring energy heavily shaped the hopeful feeling of the song.

This song was made with McDonald’s Australia to highlight the important work of Ronald McDonald House Charities, which helps over 69,000 families annually.

Matt said he was amazed to learn about the impact the organisation has across the country.

These houses offer a comforting, home-like environment for families going through difficult times. It’s truly rewarding to share that story with everyone.

The track has officially dropped and will play in Macca’s restaurants nationwide.

Oh my gosh, seeing those kids’ faces when they got to play the instruments… it was just pure magic! Seriously, the laughter, even them singing that McDonald’s jingle – it was incredible. Matt said it best, it felt like a real privilege to bring some joy to their day, and you can feel that happiness in the song, honestly. It just radiates through everything!

When asked about his favorite McDonald’s order, Matt chuckled and said it’s a Big Mac. He added that this year, $2 from every Big Mac purchase goes to support Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Mashd N Kutcher are also preparing to release their second album early next year.

Matt hinted that their upcoming music will be upbeat and danceable, with a strong rock edge. They plan to tour both Australia and other countries in 2026.

The group started their career in 2014 as a dance and electronic music act, releasing their first single, “Do It Now.” The song reached number 33 on the Australian ARIA charts.

They’re best known for their 2020 song ‘Get On The Beers,’ which cleverly remixed a press conference given by Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Saturday, November 15th, 2025, McDonald’s will host McHappy Day. For every Big Mac purchased that day, two dollars will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
