Two months prior to its streaming premiere, Marvel Animation will provide an initial sneak peek at the upcoming Disney+ Black Panther animated series.
Initially unveiled in November 2023, “Eyes of Wakanda” marks Marvel Animation’s fifth animated production, delving into the historical exploits of Wakandan warriors within their secretive homeland.
Before its official release on August 6, Marvel will preview the debut episode of their upcoming Disney+ series a bit early.
When Will 2025’s Black Panther Disney+ Series Premiere?

Disney has revealed it will display its lineup of future animated productions at the 2023 Annecy International Animation Festival.
Apart from sneak previews for Toy Story 5 and Zootopia 2, offered by Walt Disney Animation, Marvel Animation will unveil the first episode of Eyes of Wakanda on June 9, during an exclusive behind-the-scenes event with director Todd Harris and executive producer.
The brief run (four episodes) of the “Black Panther” spin-off, with the first episode airing two months ahead of its Disney+ debut, seems to indicate a high level of Marvel’s faith in the success of the project.
What To Expect From Eyes of Wakanda

Apart from having just four episodes, the animated series “Eyes of Wakanda” stands out from other Marvel Animation shows on Disney+ due to its placement within the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s continuous timeline, also known as the Sacred Timeline.
As I eagerly anticipate the latest adventure unfolding on screen, I can’t help but notice the clever nods to Marvel Cinematic Universe characters and real-world history woven into the journey of the Wakandan warriors in their relentless pursuit of lost vibranium.
However, given that the series spans across different historical periods, it’s unlikely that characters like T’Challa, Shuri, Okoye, M’Baku from “Black Panther” or “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will make frequent appearances. If they do appear, their roles are likely to be minimal.
Rather than just that, the “Eyes of Wakanda” is anticipated to enrich the tales of Wakanda (possibly before the premiere of Black Panther 3), offering additional insights to information viewers are familiar with and perhaps introducing new details they haven’t encountered yet.
Fans should take note that “Eyes of Wakanda” marks the beginning of Phase 6 within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). After this series, another four-episode animated show called “Marvel Zombies” is scheduled to premiere on October 3, 2025.
This version maintains the original meaning and presents the information in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.
Eyes of Wakanda arrives August 6, 2025, on Disney+.
