You Won’t Believe the SHOCKING End to Lost Records: Bloom & Rage
With the unveiling of “Lost Records: Bloom & Rage” Tape 2, storytellers Don’t Nod are left with many threads to weave together as Swann and her companions confront the aftermath of the events in Tape 1. The mysterious occurrence at The Blue Spruce car park towards the end of the initial chapter is promptly resolved, and it becomes clear that Swann, Nora, Autumn, and Kat have unfinished business. With the entire “Lost Records” series now concluded, it provides a fulfilling conclusion while leaving room for potential future instalments. Despite its brevity, Tape 2 packs quite a punch with some intense scenes.
In Swann’s case, you find her once again roaming Velvet Cove in the summer of 1995, capturing its sights and sounds with her camera. The town seems to be bathed in a hazy, nostalgic light. Key moments are interspersed with Swann meeting up with old friends at The Blue Spruce, which happens in 2022. The enigma of the box is eventually resolved as it’s unlocked and opened. While Tape 1 served to establish the setting and characters of Lost Records, allowing them to unfold and grow, Tape 2 focuses on building tension, retelling events from nearly three decades past that are leading towards a climax.
The story doesn’t mean there weren’t more intimate and bonding moments between the girls; on the contrary, at their cabin in the woods, there are heartwarming scenes where Kat and others reconcile with what has happened, leading to a climax that is quite dramatic. The outcome is largely determined by your choices, as you might expect, and it’s fascinating to see how events could have played out differently if you had said or done something else. However, it’s not always apparent which choices are right or wrong until after they’ve been made.

As you navigate through “Lost Records”, your decisions shape its course in unexpected ways, due to the variety of dialogue options and actions presented. It wasn’t until I saw all the final choices laid out that I realized the extent to which Swann’s journey can deviate. You have multiple options when dealing with Dylan and her abusive partner Corey. Furthermore, the way you interact with Nora and Autumn significantly impacts their role in the narrative, as well as your relationship with them.
By the game’s end, I was left on my own, which underscored the poor decisions I seemed to have made along the way. It wasn’t long before it became evident that perhaps I should have given more thought to my dialogue choices. However, in a game like “Lost Records,” it feels natural to trust your instincts and deal with the repercussions. As the credits finish, you’ll have no doubt that Don’t Nod is back at its best, reminiscent of “Life is Strange.” Yet, Tape 2’s briefness might leave you yearning for a sequel. There’s certainly room for one.

In its entirety as a two-part series titled “Lost Records: Bloom & Rage“, this captivating teen drama delivers an emotionally charged storyline that holds your attention right up until its poignant finale, with unresolved supernatural elements adding to the intrigue. It seems that Don’t Nod still has stories from Velvet Cove waiting to be shared, and even though a few plot threads remain unresolved and may leave some viewers feeling frustrated, we can’t help but eagerly anticipate additional installments.
