You Won’t Believe Netflix’s Epic Alfred Hitchcock Collection Dropping June 1!

Beginning June 1, we’ll be enriching our U.S. streaming collection with seven timeless classics. Notable among these are suspenseful masterpieces like “Vertigo”, “Rear Window”, and “The Birds”.

The streaming debut of Hitchcock‘s collection on a platform coincides with a significant theatrical retrospective called “HITCH! The Pioneering Influence of Cinema” at New York’s Paris Theater, jointly presented by the New York Film Critics Circle. The film resurgence will last six weeks, from May 16 to June 29 at the historic single-screen cinema, located near Central Park. Netflix purchased this esteemed theater in 2019 and transformed it into a prominent theatrical venue in New York.

Collaboration between Hitchcock and Netflix offers a wealth of content for movie enthusiasts. The Paris Theater lineup enhances the iconic director’s masterpieces, offering restored versions and 35mm screenings of films in conjunction with his filmography. Some movies to be showcased are François Truffaut’s The Bride Wore Black and Henri-Georges Clouzot’s Diabolique. Modern titles such as Jordan Peele’s Us and the horror film Barbarian will also be part of the program.

Netflix Debuts Several Hitchcock Classics

Netflix is teaming up with the New York Film Critics Circle for their 90th anniversary, expanding its collection by including some timeless classics. Hitchcock, a renowned filmmaker and pioneer in cinema analysis and study, represents one of the most extensive cinematic exhibitions that Netflix has presented to date. Although Netflix often collaborates with distinguished directors like David Fincher, this specific retrospective is particularly noteworthy among its offerings.

Additionally, this collaboration is one of the U.S.’s most intricate partnerships, featuring more than 35 movies displayed in 35mm format. The program serves as a bridge between commercial and cultural interests for Netflix, enriching its film library with esteemed titles while transforming its branded theater into a notable event. This two-pronged approach aligns with the prevailing trends in streaming services, where psychological thrillers remain popular choices among viewers.

Starting June 1st, you’ll have the chance to stream the entire Hitchcock collection, often hailed as a cornerstone in the thriller genre, on Netflix. For those interested in attending a Hitchcock screening with tickets available, details and information can be found through the Paris Theater.
