You Won’t Believe How the Viral Yodel Kid Looks After 7 Years!

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but share the excitement over Mason Ramsey, once a beloved child star, igniting the web once more following his collaboration with yet another viral sensation on an Instagram video.

11-year-old Mason gained rapid popularity in 2018 when a video of him singing Hank Williams’ Lovesick Blues in the Walmart aisles was shared online.

Seven years after his viral yodeling video, Mason collaborated with another 2010s icon – Nick Wilikins, a TikTok sensation known for his strong resemblance to Rudy Pankow, who portrayed JJ Maybank in the Netflix teen drama series Outer Banks.

In a recent Instagram post, I found myself engaged in a playful competition with a friend, trying to determine which of us could claim the title of the most iconic internet sensation. To set the stage, my companion, Nick, chose to recreate his signature “thirst trap” poses, showcasing a dash of humor and charisma that left viewers in stitches. On the other hand, I opted for a more melodious approach, serenading the audience with a soulful rendition of Lovesick Blues. It was an entertaining spectacle, to say the least!

The clip was captioned: ‘when the two friends who used to be memes hang out’.

Enthusiasts swiftly responded with comments like “I’M TEARING UP, I LOVE YOU BOTH SO MUCH!” and “MASON AND NICK COLLABORATION?! My life has never been more complete!”.

People commented: “I genuinely ADORe Mason Ramsey’s music”; “Wow, WHAT A FANTASTIC collaboration! And you sound amazing”; “The Lovesick Blues 2025 remake wasn’t on my radar until now, but I can’t believe how much I enjoy it.

Wow, you two make such an unforgettable pair!

Wow, it seems like you two just can’t be forgotten together!

And for the third option:

J.J. Maybank and that yodeling kid from Walmart?!? Nick sure does collaborate with some diverse talents!

“Wow, I never thought the Yodel Boy would become popular! (By the way, in around 2020, I listened to your songs so much that my sister got tired of it and broke my laptop.)

Wow, what a collaboration I didn’t know I needed! By the way, Mason, your voice sounds fantastic singing those heartbroken blues. I absolutely adore the sound – you should consider recording it again! 😊

From Golconda, Illinois, Mason gained international fame following his viral Walmart yodeling video and subsequently secured a record deal with Atlantic Records.

He also performed at Coachella and was featured on Ellen.

In his chat with Ellen DeGeneres, he shared that he’s been yodeling since he was just three years old, and if given the chance, he’d love to team up musically with Blake Shelton.

If everything goes well and no unexpected problems arise, I’ll be back here another time, he called out, hinting at a quote by Johnny Cash as he departed the performance.

This led to a subsequent performance at his local Walmart shop, streamed live on Walmart’s Facebook platform, a guest spot on The Ellen Show, and once again, the hit single reaching the peak positions in the music charts.

Mason also be performed at Tennessee’s Grand Ole Opry, a weekly country-music stage concert.

However, his fame eventually waned, and by the year 2022, Mason disclosed via TikTok that he had started working for the sandwich chain, Subway.

However, he returned to the music world in 2023, releasing a flurry of new songs.

Last year, when we discussed his fame, Mason mentioned: ‘A video of me singing randomly at a Walmart went viral without my knowledge. It wasn’t until a week later that I found out because I wasn’t very active on social media.’

It was revealed this month he would be performing at Kansas State Fair.

Simultaneously, Nick’s been consistently posting popular videos on TikTok, amassing a following of 8.2 million users and earning over 545 million likes from his engaging content.
