The popular series titled “Something in the Water,” featuring star actress Lauren Lyle as Karen Pirie, is set to depart from Netflix UK in a short while.
The survival thriller that’s been streaming since November 29th (last year) and initially hit cinemas in July is being taken off Netflix starting August 20th. So, if you want to catch it before it disappears, make sure you watch it within the next week!
Under Hayley Easton Street’s guidance, the movie titled Something in the Water tells a story about five women embarking on a day trip by boat along the coast. Yet, their peaceful journey takes an unexpected turn as they find themselves adrift in open water and confronted by relentless sharks, forcing them to struggle for survival.
As I excitedly share this news with you all, it’s an absolute pleasure to announce that the talented Hiftu Quasem from Killing Eve, the charismatic Natalie Mitchell from The Larkins, Ellouise Shakespeare-Hart, and the captivating Nicole Rieko Setsuko have graciously agreed to join me in our upcoming project!
Initially, the movie garnered both positive and negative feedback upon its release. Currently, it holds a 46% score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 26 critical reviews.
Despite being labeled as forgettable by some, such as Total Film, others found it gripping. Although it may not reach the heights of a Jaws-level classic, The Guardian’s critics believe it manages to strike a balance quite effectively in its genre.
Some people thought it was dull, while others felt it was exciting. It might not be as iconic as Jaws, but some think it does well for its type of movie.

Previously this past month, Lauren Lyle took on her character once again for the Scottish detective series titled Karen Pirie.
In the fresh instalments, recently elevated Detective Inspector Pirie embarks on a mission to unravel the mystery surrounding the vanished young heiress Catriona Grant and her two-year-old son Adam from 1984.
As I dive back into the gaming world after a much-needed break, little did I know that this new mission would lead me down an intriguing path. Forty long years had passed since the disappearance of someone close to the community, and now, my detective skills are being put to the test once more. A fresh clue has emerged, resurrecting a cold case from decades ago. It’s time to unravel the mystery – I’m on it!

In a different production this year, Lauren Lyle graced our screens alongside Jodie Whittaker, known for her role as the Doctor in “Doctor Who”, and Aimee Lou Wood, famous for her part in “The White Lotus”. The series aired on Netflix under the title Toxic Waste.
The show follows the story of three mothers involved in the Corby toxic waste case.
Something in the Water is available to stream on Netflix UK until 20 August.
