There are just a few days remaining to catch the “touching” British romantic film starring Colin Morgan from “Merlin,” all for free, without needing a streaming service subscription.
2018’s “Benjamin,” penned and helmed by Simon Amstell, showcases Morgan in the role of an ambitious filmmaker struggling with insecurities about his professional advancement and personal relationships.

According to Variety, Benjamin displays a charm through his tactful reserve and fits perfectly within the runtime of less than 90 minutes. Furthermore, the film preserves its subtle, stingingly funny tone and bittersweet, personal atmosphere right up until the very end.
The Guardian praised Amstell for creating an exceptionally sincere love story, filled with both tender and awkward moments. On the other hand, Empire noted that the film combines sharp wit and satire with a touch of sweetness and affection, giving it a unique blend that seems reminiscent of American indie films but still maintains its British charm.
The majority of comments agree that Stewart-Jarrett gives a concise yet impactful portrayal as Benjamin’s former partner, spouting sharp, explicit insults directed at the main character.
