2019 marked the year when a movie directed by the writer-director of Hereditary hit the screens. This film centers around Dani, portrayed by Pugh, who is dealing with the grief of a loved one and shares a relationship with Christian, played by Jack Reynor.

When Dani joins Christian on his trip to Sweden against his wishes, she’ll soon discover the unpleasant side of her boyfriend and the disturbing practices of the community they’re visiting, which involve ritualistic activities.

Upon its premiere, the film garnered favorable responses from critics, securing a “Certified Fresh” status on Rotten Tomatoes with an impressive 83% rating. This places it as the second highest-rated movie directed by Aster, trailing only behind “Hereditary“, which currently holds a 90% score on the aggregator.
