You Can Now Catch Pokémon on Google

Partnering together, Google and Pokémon present a fresh Easter egg mini-game experience! Now, enthusiasts have the opportunity to discover and capture all 151 Pokémons via Google Search, embarking on an intricate quest to find the classic Pokémons from the Kanto region.

Transforming Google Chrome into a lively Pokedex, the game is conveniently playable on Android and iOS devices, exclusively through the Google mobile application. At present, it’s not compatible with desktop versions. To embark on your quest to catch them all, initiate by searching for “151 wild Pokemon hiding on Google” for a starting point, where a Poké Ball will appear in the bottom-right corner. Upon logging in, you can commence searching different names of Kanto region Pokémon. When you encounter a Poké Ball, simply tap it to set off the catch animation. For certain characters like “Ditto,” tapping the definition of the English word might lead users to type “Pokemon” after the character name, which will then trigger the appearance of the Poké Ball.

To collect all Pokémons, players should look up each one individually via Google. Notably, Legendary and Mythical Pokémons like Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo, and Mew demand Master Balls for capture. These rare ones can only be obtained when a player demonstrates their skill by catching Pokémons listed in the Pokédex prior to them. Master Balls are earned as more Pokémons are collected: players receive one after reaching five, 20, 50, 100 and 150 unique Pokémons, at which point they’ll be prompted with a specific Legendary or Mythical Pokémon suggestion.

As you discover each new Pokémon, it gets added to your digital Pokédex within your Google account, helping you keep tabs on your progress. To excite fans and honor longtime enthusiasts, Google and Pokémon have collaborated for a heartwarming throwback event. Simply fire up the Google mobile browser to embark on this exciting quest!
