You Already Have The Most Powerful Stardew Valley Item – You’re Just Not Using It
In Stardew Valley, everyone starts off with the strongest tool right from the beginning – it’s included as part of your farmhouse package. You might have heard lots about the game’s strongest sword, its scarcest crops, or its most useful farm buildings. They can certainly be very helpful if you manage to obtain them at the right moments and use them effectively.
You might find it hard to believe, but right from when you first began the game in Stardew Valley, you were already in possession of one of the most potent items. Unlike other items, this isn’t tucked away in your inventory; instead, it’s an integral part of your standard farmhouse decoration.
Stardew Valley’s Most Powerful Item Is A Simple Chair
The Oak Chair Is OP
The ordinary chair found in your home right from the start of Stardew Valley turns out to be the game’s strongest item hidden in plain sight. This seemingly insignificant chair is a constant feature in every type of farm house, regardless of your choice.
The Oak Chair is excessively potent because it can be employed to bypass numerous game-imposed limitations, including techniques that let you leap over obstacles set within the game. Generally speaking, when Stardew Valley wants to prevent you from acquiring a highly effective item (such as the [Oakfist] or a valuable resource (like [Iron Bar]), it will place a physical hindrance in your path, such as a massive tree trunk or a broken bridge.
Typically, you can overcome these hurdles only by advancing through the game. As you enhance your axe, it will become strong enough to chop down the massive log. Additionally, finishing tasks related to the Community Center or JojaMart will eventually lead to the repair of that broken bridge.
As a fan of creative furniture arrangements, I love how the flexible seating rules let me position my chair beyond my usual walking distance. This unique placement often means putting the chair in spots that are typically out of reach. Once there, all you need to do is sit down and magically bypass the obstacle. Stand up, pick up the chair, and you’re free to move around again!
Everything You Can Do With The Chair
Breaking & Entering, The Secret Woods, & More
One frequent application of the chair trick is to access the Secret Woods prematurely. Just position it on the left side of the large hardwood log, and then use it to jump over it by sitting on it. This provides an early supply of hardwood more frequently than normal.
Another option is to utilize the chair trick to enter different characters’ bedrooms before you have built a strong enough relationship to freely enter. Simply position the chair in their open doorway, climb onto it, and jump off to the other side. This technique can be beneficial when trying to obtain Mayor Lewis’ clothes without exerting much effort while interacting with Marnie.
In summary, another option is to utilize the chair to push yourself beyond the boundaries where the cart tracks stop in the mine, then navigate around to the Quarry Mine on foot. If you successfully navigate through this perilous route, you can seize the Golden Scythe earlier than usual and even reach the Quarry before it naturally opens. Just remember that once you’re there, you won’t be able to depart; you’ll have to remain until you succumb.
Despite its name, this issue, vulnerability, or flaw – pick whichever term suits you – is surprisingly beneficial and allows you to acquire some quality items earlier than usual. On its own, the Oak Chair might not seem significant, but it plays a crucial role in obtaining top-tier items within Stardew Valley, making it quite powerful indeed.
