Actress Leslie Grace, famous for her role in “In the Heights,” has been chosen for the part in an upcoming movie titled “Propel.” This film narrates the thrilling tale of a diver who gets trapped inside a massive sperm whale after a tragic boat accident. Besides this, Leslie Grace is recognized for portraying the lead character in the movie “Batgirl,” which unfortunately was halted by HBO Max as it approached its completion stage.

Under the guidance of director Felipe Vargas, the film titled “Propel” has been likened to a fusion between “Gravity” and “127 Hours”, but set underwater. According to Variety, this movie promises to deliver an unnerving level of tension.

In this film, penned by Jeremy Marwick, we find a story drawn from actual incidents. The lead character, portrayed by Grace, is Kate Acosta, a professional diver in the commercial sector, who unfortunately finds herself engulfed by a massive sperm whale during a typical work dive.

As I found myself ensnared within this beast’s hide, I knew that surviving would require confronting not just the terrifying creatures lurking outside, but also my inner fears and struggles. If I wanted to escape unscathed, I had no choice but to face them head-on.

Propel won’t be the only film about a person trapped in the insides of a whale.

In March, it was announced that the film titled “Whalefall” will be starring Josh Brolin and Austin Abrams from “Euphoria.” This movie is based on the successful book with the same title by Daniel Kraus.

In this movie, directed by Brian Duffield, we follow the journey of a scuba diver as he seeks to find the remains of his late father.

While I was exploring the depths of the ocean as a gamer, I found myself drawn into the gaping maw of a colossal 80-feet long, 60-ton sperm whale. Trapped within its titanic belly, I realized I had only an hour’s worth of oxygen remaining to breathe.

According to the summary, the young character discovers an unexpected motivation for survival in what appears to be the riskiest and least suitable locations.
