Yellowstone’s Beth And Rip Spinoff May Have Revealed Its Title, And It’d Be On-Brand For This Franchise
There’s been a lack of drama centered around Yellowstone since the prequel 1923 concluded earlier in the 2025 TV schedule. However, the wait might not be forever as both another prequel (1944) and a sequel series featuring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser’s characters Beth and Rip are on the way. The sequel has so far been known by its character-based description, but it seems an unofficial title has emerged, and like others in this franchise, it won’t be praised for its originality.
The name “Yellowstone” is versatile enough to cover a wide range of things, such as the state park, the river, or the Paradise Valley ranch that the Dutton family have long owned. However, Taylor Sheridan’s subsequent dramas have been given rather straightforward and uninspired titles. Thus, it might not come as a shock that Beth and Rip’s new spinoff could potentially bear the

Dutton Ranch
It seems more effective and aesthetically pleasing to have concise and easily pronounceable TV show titles, as demonstrated in Amy Sherman-Palladino’s new show Étoile. However, a title like Dutton Ranch feels provisional, as if it were hastily chosen based on a single title card without any actual viewing of the series.
This is a play on words combining “Dutton” and “Walmart.”)
Indeed, Beth isn’t the only Dutton family member who possesses her own property, despite her land being the most distant from their previous home. In fact, I’m referring to Luke Grimes’ character, Kayce. In a humorous turn of events during the Season 5 finale, he managed to secure permanent land for himself, Monica, and Tate through an agreement with Rainwater. However, his hilarious misunderstanding in counting the terms of the deal led to some amusing complications.
Instead of the title suggesting that the sequel series will involve Kayce’s land, it seems that the show might be focusing more on Kayce himself, given reports of Martin Henderson discussing a spinoff with CBS that leans towards procedurals and centers primarily on Kayce.
While we’re in limbo about the authenticity of that particular title, let’s explore the names of Taylor Sheridan’s other original television series instead.
- 1883
- Mayor Of Kingstown
- The Last Cowboy
- Tulsa King
- Lioness
- Landman
- 1923
- 6666 (in development)
- 1944 (In development)
- The Madison (in development)
It’s quite fascinating how these projects seem to share names with some of his most iconic movie scripts, such as “Sicario”, “Hell or High Water”, and “Those Who Wish Me Dead”. Maybe the upcoming spinoff will surprise us with a title that’s entirely different, for instance, “Family-Managed Landholding”.
I’m crossing my fingers for the premiere of the Dutton Ranch to arrive quickly, whether it keeps its current title or not. Until then, you can watch Yellowstone in its entirety by subscribing to Peacock.
