As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the actress, who has captured our hearts with her portrayal of Beth Dutton in the popular Western drama, is set to star in a Sky Original series named “Under Salt Marsh“. This exciting news comes to us via Variety.
In the creation of Claire Oakley lies the story titled “Under Salt Marsh“. This narrative is situated in the fictional Welsh town named Morfa Halen. The main character, Jackie Ellis, played by Reilly, transitions from a detective to a teacher in this tale. An unfortunate event occurs where Jackie finds the body of her 8-year-old student Cefin, who appears to have drowned during an extraordinary storm, considered a rarity in one generation.
The stunning revelation ripples through the neighborhood, stirring up the specter of a decades-old, unresolved mystery – Jackie’s beloved niece, Nessa’s, vanishing act three years ago, which ultimately derailed Jackie’s professional life.
The demise of Cefin prompts Detective Eric Bull, Jackie’s ex-partner, to return to Morfa Halen, this time to oversee an inquiry into a place where he had previously fallen short.
With a strong belief that the cases are intertwined, Jackie and Bull find themselves in a race against time. They need to put their differences aside and delve deep into the hidden past of Morfa, for if they don’t, the impending storm might wash away any remaining evidence forever.
Oakley is going to collaborate with Jonathan Harbottle and Nikita Lalwani in creating the show. Oakley will also serve as executive producer and head director, while Mary Nighy has been assigned to direct the third and fourth episodes. Filming is planned for later this year.
