Yellowstone star Lainey Wilson opens the doors to her Louisiana mansion as she dishes on fiancé Duck Hodges

Lainey Wilson recently gave Southern Living magazine a tour of her home, a mansion located in Louisiana.

The Yellowstone actress also opened up about her relationship with fiancé Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges.

The country singer, 33, shared that she told her future husband, who was 29 at the time, a small untruth when they first met.

This story connects to his nickname, ‘Duck,’ which he received from an old college football coach. The coach explained that he was reminded of a talented quarterback with the same nickname at the time.

He had a fantastic season that year. As a result, the entire team began chanting, “It’s Duck season; it’s Duck season!” That’s how he earned the nickname ‘Duck,’ the singer explained.

She continued, ‘During our first date, I told him that people call me Goose. It wasn’t true, but he believed me. I think he was immediately smitten-like, he thought he was falling in love.’

As a lifestyle expert, I always love hearing how couples connect! In our cover story, Lainey shared something really sweet – she revealed where Duck really steps up in their relationship – and it’s in the kitchen! It seems he shows his love through cooking, which is a wonderful way to connect and build intimacy. It’s all about those little things, isn’t it?

She admitted that her fiancé loves her for many qualities beyond her cooking skills. “If he liked my cooking,” she said, “he would have left a long time ago.”

The singer of “Heart Like A Truck” also mentioned, ‘He can cook. Being from Alabama, he definitely knows his way around the kitchen.

Last month her wedding plans came to light in a Daily Mail exclusive.

A source has shared that Lainey is organizing a large, country-themed wedding with the Pittsburgh Steelers star.

The event will take place in Nashville, Tennessee, where the music artist owns a 30-acre property.

According to an insider, ‘That’s the ideal spot because she has strong connections there, and Devlin also has ties to Alabama, which is just a four-hour drive,’ they stated.

According to a source close to the couple, the wedding will have a sexy country vibe-think California cowgirl. It’ll be traditional but with a playful, sassy edge.

We’ve learned that Lainey is already shopping for a wedding dress. She envisions something that flatters her figure and embodies a Southern, yet glamorous style – like a Southern belle with a connection to the music world. She’s confirmed she won’t be wearing a cowgirl hat during the ceremony.

The ceremony won’t take place until the entertainer’s Whirlwind World Tour wraps.

The lovebirds announced their engagement in February 2025.

Duck got down on one knee and proposed to his partner at the George Jones estate in Franklin, Tennessee. He gave her a large diamond engagement ring, which he presented inside a box shaped like a cowboy hat.

The twosome began dating in 2021, but didn’t make their red-carpet debut in 2023.

Back in January, Lainey playfully suggested she might have to propose to her boyfriend at the time, as she was hoping he would ask her to marry him.

During a CMT interview, Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo, jokingly said, ‘No pressure, brother! No pressure. I might have to propose to him. We’re waiting!’
