Yellowstone star Kevin Costner’s box-office flop confirms streaming release

As a fan who has spent countless hours engrossed in the vast cinematic universe of Kevin Costner, I eagerly await the release of “Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1”. Despite the mixed reviews it received, I remain optimistic, for I have learned to appreciate that sometimes, greatness takes time to be recognized.

The American television series “Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1,” featuring Yellowstone actor Kevin Costner, has set its U.S. streaming premiere date.

The Western film will be available for Max subscribers to watch from Friday, August 23.

The release date for streaming in the UK has not been disclosed as of now, however, you can buy or rent it digitally from platforms such as Amazon and iTunes.

The film delves into the four-year span of the American Civil War during the late 1800s, examining the struggle by focusing on the experiences of American families, allies, and adversaries as they grapple with understanding their identity within the United States.

The initial movie of the series, launched in June, garnered underwhelming critical responses, often labeled as a “three-hour prelude” for upcoming films, also criticized as “tedious, aggravating, and conducive to sleep.”

As a gamer, I must admit that diving into “Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1” wasn’t the cinematic adventure I had hoped for. The movie received a disappointing 49% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which probably didn’t do much to boost its ticket sales. In the end, it only managed to pull in $24 million at the box office, while reportedly costing between $50-100 million to produce.

As a passionate gamer pouring my own funds into a four-part game series, I can’t help but feel content with how things have unfolded, despite the less-than-stellar reception the first installment has received.

“If we overemphasize it, there’s a high chance we’ll be let down. I’m genuinely pleased that Horizon appears as intended and will continue to do so throughout its lifetime. This aspect is crucial for my satisfaction during this process.”

The follow-up to the Western film, initially scheduled for cinema release on August 16 this month, has been postponed following a lackluster debut of its predecessor. No new release date has been disclosed as of now.
