Yellowstone season 6 officially in development: Paramount hit may not be canceled after all
As a die-hard fan of Yellowstone who’s followed this gripping series from its inception, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard whispers of a potential sixth season! The thought of saying goodbye to Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler felt like tearing away the last remnants of my ranch-loving heart.
It seemed like Paramount Network was considering retiring the TV show “Yellowstone,” but it looks like they’ve reconsidered and may not be planning to wrap up the series anytime soon!
Although Paramount hasn’t officially confirmed a season 6 for “Yellowstone” yet, industry insider Lesley Goldberg hints through Puck News that the network plans to prolong the series beyond its current fifth season. Instead of terminating the show due to Kevin Costner’s departure, Paramount is considering continuing it with key contributions from stars Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton) and Cole Hauser (Rip Wheeler), who are expected to step up as the new main characters in the future of the franchise.
Originally, the two actors were set to return in their roles for the upcoming spinoff “The Madison,” as Paramount considered wrapping up the main series following Costner’s departure. However, it appears that Paramount has chosen to continue the original “Yellowstone” series with input from the duo, rather than ending the show solely because of Costner’s absence.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but speculate about who else from our beloved cast might rejoin us for season 6. However, one thing seems certain: characters like Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton) and Wes Bentley (Jamie Dutton) are likely to continue their roles in the show’s future storylines.
Yellowstone season 6 should happen
It’s worth noting that according to reports, Paramount Network is planning a sixth season for the series. Therefore, it seems fitting to express this idea as: “It appears that Paramount Network intends to produce Yellowstone Season 6, and it certainly looks promising.”
As a devoted fan, I’ve always admired Kevin Costner for his role in kick-starting this incredible series. However, his departure doesn’t necessarily mean the end of the story. There are still countless tales to be shared within the world of this show, and it’s clear that John Dutton was just one piece of the intricate puzzle. In truth, Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton and Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler have truly taken center stage, becoming the undeniable stars of the series in my eyes.
Rip and Beth are rapidly gaining popularity as a beloved pair, and they’re eagerly prepared to take the helm for the upcoming season. It’s certain that their dedicated fanbase will continue to tune in during season 6, as it’s been announced they’ll be the main characters moving forward within the franchise.
Leaving the series simply because Costner chose to depart would have been an enormous injustice to both the entire cast and dedicated fans of the show, who keep it among the most popular series on television. Numerous shows have managed to thrive even after a key actor’s departure, and Yellowstone has all the essential elements to last for several more years without Costner’s participation.
Wrapping up the series prematurely would have been a significant oversight. Though we understand that some notable Yellowstone characters were intended for the upcoming spinoff, it seems more beneficial to prolong the original series and let the narratives of these characters take center stage, rather than serving as supporting roles.
As a longtime fan of Yellowstone, I can hardly contain my excitement as I eagerly await the official announcement from Paramount about the upcoming season 6. With its gripping storylines and captivating characters, this show has become a staple in my life over the years. Here’s to hoping that they finalize their plans and give us another dose of ranching drama soon!
